    Natürlich reicht BLE nicht vom Raspi bis ins Bad. Aber ich hatte hier noch einen alten ESP32 herumliegen (den ich bei irgend nem $iC3 mal aus einem Zigarettenautomaten gezogen hatte und bisher trauriger Weise nur mal in Betrieb genommen hatte, um für Arbeit was zu Prototypen). Und weil ich neulich mal was von Bluetooth Proxy gelesen hatte, eine Funktion, die ein mit ESPHome bespielten Device zu einem Remote BLE Adapter in HomeAssistant macht, dachte ich mir: das probier ich doch mal aus. Und es hat wunderbar funktioniert! 🥰

    Wie ist es dazu ☝️gekommen? Ich habe LED-Strips gekauft, für das Bad. Und weil mir die Geräte mit Zigbee zu teuer waren und WiFi i.d.R. heißt: funktioniert nur mit der komischen China-App und über China-Cloud und funkt vermutlich als erstes mein WLAN-Passwort und Scan meines Heimnetzes nach Hause (komische Ami-App und Ami-Cloud wäre auch nicht besser, aber für sowas bin ich eh zu geizig). Und da mir Automatisierung von den Dingern erstmal nicht so wichtig war, hab ich dann einfach die billigsten genommen, mit Fernbedienung (und App, aber die muss man ja nicht benutzen).

    Stellt sich raus, die sind per BLE steuerbar, das Protokoll ganz gut reverse engineert und es gibt eine HA-Integration via HACS (ElkBLEDOM).

    A couple of hours of frustration later, and it turns out that earlier versions of #inkplate 10 use an MCP23017 I/O expander, not the pair of PCA6416A expanders that later versions use.
    A fairly swift find and replace later and I now have an #esphome test program running
