The not so common commonplace book
I dare say that Claude is one of the best companions for autistic-level rabbit hole spelunking. I’ve been DIY bartending (for myself mainly if I’m honest, but also at a handful of family gatherings.) It may have started during Covid. Maybe it didn’t. I’ve always been a bit of an experimental lush. Along the way I’ve created a few signatures, and recently shared those and some other favorites under different noms de plume at the recently opened https://221b.bar. All of my drinks recipes and variations and testing notes live in a subsection of an Obsidian notebook; See https://github.com/dwmetz/MindPalace/ for the bigger picture.
Where does Claude come in?
(Liam Neeson voice) I have a set of [Claude] skills, that:
- Indexes and cross links all recipes in Obsidian
- Keeps an archive of all 221b.bar recipes and polls the site and notebook for updates (even online bars need disaster recovery)
- Raw entries under /drinks-in-design have a wiki publishing workflow in prep for future ‘delivered in print’ and/or 221b.bar formatting
And the one that follows me through the house:
- Generates a ‘Commonplace Bar Guide’ dynamic artifact so all recipes are searchable with a ‘cookbook’ like display (iPhone or tablet in the kitchen)
- Toggle to keep screen active
- With a special tag for 211b.bar house drinks.
Also available via Jarvis Home UI but that’s a different tea session with the mad hatter
