Nice! I got the charcoal one, with glass side. It will become my content creation and fun #dreammachine for the living room. Dual boot and will first test https://bazzite.gg/ :bazzite:
Have a hunch I end up rarely having to boot into Windows 😝

As a consumer if I cannot use a product or service without also respecting my privacy I will simply not use that product or service.
I should not have to provide any identifying information for anything that doesn't inherently require it to function.

Browser based password managers are really convenient but they can feel a little less than secure at times. A nice idea might be accepting a Yubikey or similar device as a login-time credential that is both fast and a little more secure than a password.
Does anyone know if any browsers implement something like this that *isnt* just a password?

A tip for those of you who use a #nalgene water bottle: Slowly circling a little bit of hydrogen peroxide around the lid will help clean those tiny threads and remove debris.

#Nothing, #Unihertz, The Minimal Company, #Punkt.
What do all these companies have in common? Really interesting product lineups without the security standards offered by #GrapheneOS.
Its a darn shame.

Unpopular Fediverse idea: Let Mastodon & other fediverse platforms offer optional ads. No user data involved. Advertisers pick interest-based instances for relevance. Charge per view (cheap) or unique viewer (expensive); owners control which ads run. This boosts self-sufficiency, covering costs without forcing ads. Instances can stay ad-free; users can pay directly (e.g., Patreon) to opt out of ads. Keeps platforms independent & owners sustained. #Fediverse #Mastodon #InstanceFunding #EthicalAds

It really bugs me that Falkon is stuck with a fairly out of date feature set. Its such a great browser in the making, all the bones are there... That is one thing KDE doesn't have: A solid browser. There are certain features that just seem like common sense now, which are not integrated. Sadly its reliance on QtWebEngine does place quite a few limitations on what can be done. Especially as far as add-ons are concerned.

For users which are unaware: Fosstodon has an automatic post deletion feature where you can set a time threshold after which your posts will be automatically deleted! Other Mastodon instances may also have this feature, but it varies. Check 'Preferences -> Automated post deletion'.

It would be really nice to be able to import/export word filters on #Mastdon. Not sure why this functionality isn't there. Perhaps a feature request is in order.

Welp, I don't know why #Mozilla does what it does, but #Firefox is cooked. What are some non-Firefox, and non-Chromium based browsers which are reasonably usable? #Falkon? #Konqueror? (yeah I'm giving Qt WebEngine a pass but what other choice do I have?)
I wish #Palemoon devs could just do things that are cool, but they seem complacent and stubborn. In my ideal world Palemoon would align itself with FOSS and we'd all use it.

So, #Chrisafooli is off to a good start I see … what a nasty little piece of slime 🤦♂️

Crisafulli made the promise to resign as premier after four years if “victim numbers” did not reduce, during a first debate with the Labor premier, Steven Miles, on 4 October.
“I’m serious about it, and I’m not giving myself any wriggle room. It’s victim numbers,” Crisafulli said.
#Chrisafooli now says on Friday that he was referring to per capita rates, and not the overall number of victims.
The #Qld Premier #StevenMiles responded by accusing the opposition leader of making an “excuse for an increase in victims”.
“The fine print of his signature commitment is that there will be more victims. It’ll just be per capita. That goes against everything he has consistently said,” the premier said.
“Now, he’s given himself three body lengths of wiggle room by saying that he meant per capita, he clearly didn’t mean per capita, because he has been critical of Labor for that increase in victims, which per capita has seen a decrease.”

Queensland liberal National Party (Chrisafulli) undermining Queensland LNP (Dutton) by breaking & devaluing election promises.

Doesn’t add much to the knowledge base about #QldVotes but some profiles on some of the seats that may be in play. Also doesn’t mention that #Chrisafooli has now backtracked on his commitment to resign as Leader if he fails to reduce the so-called high crime rate 🤦♂️😁🥂
