  1. So last night we finally got all of the issues cleared up in moving our critical web and mail servers out of the office. There were numerous DNS and ISP related hurdles in getting these servers relocated.

The office had been without power since Tuesday 4/29 due to severe weather that evening here in .

And as I would expect (its my luck), after the last couple of tests, with servers now located at powered sites, we were about to declare victory when we noticed that power had just been restored back at the office the hour before. We could have just left the stuff sit there.

We were without power for 4 days during which we scrambled to keep business alive and we could have just gone off and drank. Maybe that is today's plan.

Once email came back up we received a pile of Duquesne Light notices with status as to when it would be restored. There's a long list of positives in running your own servers. This situation is in the other column. But we lease space and cannot invest in the infrastructure to provide the whole building with backup power.

Thanks do go out to for their effort. We know that the restoration continues and truly appreciate the dedication they have demonstrated.
