One of the perils of being a veteran security expert that normies never have to think about.... 😅

  3. I don't know what's going on with Google's anti-malware scanning lately, but they keep flagging old files linked in old stories that contain urls that might have at one point been nasty and bad. Maybe someone is reporting them all just to be a pain, but it's super annoying because Google just keeps sending you warnings saying your files might contain malware and will be reviewed, and the only thing you can do with these emails is click "request a review," which just invites more of the same emails ad nauseum. So my options at this point are wait to see what Google does, edit all the files to defang any offending urls, or just delete the files altogether. What a PITA.

KrebsOnSecurity has learned that the suspect, who uses the hacker handle “Rey,” was detained as ShinyHunters was in the process of extorting a business unit recently divested by the global aerospace company Boeing, which manufactures the fleet of planes used by the employer of Rey’s father — Royal Jordanian Airlines.

  6. Someone appears to have hacked the British retailer ASOS and is sending push notifications to customers stating that their data was hacked via a compromised instance at the cloud data storage provider Snowflake. Interesting direct approach, trying to get customers flooding the company with angry emails and pressure the company to pay a ransom.

  7. This composition positively cried out for a photo. Capturing the dual reflections of the not full but still very bright moon and a few stars was bliss on our first (and only clear) night at Rehoboth Beach, Del. this past week. Taken with a late model iPhone.
