I keep having this weird problem where I have one foot in Tailscale and one foot not and that state is complicating my thinking about my homelab.
I'm hesitant to fully commit to it, which means use it when I'm on the LAN because there is no reason things should not just work on the LAN without it and if my Internet is down Tailscale will not work and I don't want my muscle memory and workflows to be based on it.
But realistically, how often is my internet down? It's extremely rare.

Yesterday I set up the final piece of the backup solution for my self-hosted services: ntfy notifications to my phone. I woke up to 0 failure notifications for any backup location and 1 notification that the autorestic process had completed.
Manual inspection of snapshots and autorestic log confirms. Next week I’ll do a test restore from backup.
I'm not yet self-hosting ntfy itself, but I may do that in the future on my vps.

I just have one thing to say about the Super Bowl: What were the Vikings thinking?
-
Still thinking about the Vikings' (6-8) decision not to keep Darnold (1̵1̵-̵3̵ 12-3) after last season.

I love getting to listen in on the video replay discussion by officials in college football. (It seems like this is only a thing for select ACC games on ESPN and ACC Network.) I'm looking forward to hearing the discussion about one that is less clear-cut than the one I just saw.

What a battle in the final of the Copa America Femina! Congrats to Marta and Brazil and Columbia for the epic competition.
//Turns attention to Messi and Inter Miami CF in Leagues Cup action.//

I'm a Flyers guy, of course, but living in South Florida has made me ok with the Panthers going to the Stanley Cup Finals for the third year in a row.

Then there was a quick, one-off on one of my favorite topics, art heists. An episode of SpyCast, from the International Spy Museum, “The Most Famous Art Detective in the World" with ex-FBI legend Robert Wittman and a discussion of the recovery of over $300 million worth of stolen art and cultural property” during his career.

As usual, the Stanley Cup playoffs are a-whole-nother-level compared to the regular season. It's always a joy to watch, even when my team is not in it.
