not only was Canada a major #Ratlines destination for nazi collabos, but it had the *most* ignoble record of *all* the democracies in refusing entry to Jews fleeing nazi & fascist persecution. Tiny Uruguay admitted more Jewish refugees than Canada did.
There was literally a period when it was easier for nazis like #Hunka to get in to Canada than it was for Jewish refugees.
And this was by design, not by accident.

@SusanHR I know my vacation $ alone won’t make a difference to #DeSantis or #Disney but, it’s money someplace else WILL get.
As #consumers we wield considerable power if we do it #collectively. DeSantis’ followers will jump ship in a heartbeat if his bullsh*t policies start hurting their pocketbook. Getting people to act together, however - that’s a tough one. -

@SusanHR I never go barefoot. Good morning. There's very few early morning experiences that take the wind out of you. Jogging 10 miles will. or stepping in something, with a sock on (I'm not crazy, I have cats, never go barefoot!), removing said sock, and finding something you missed #eew.

Interesting. It brought to mind how good public health efforts go unrecognized because nothing happens. So the public health budget is cut — nothing happened — and then all hell breaks loose.
Fire departments spend a lot of effort doing inspections and preventing fires, but they are in the news only when fires occur.
Preventing catastrophe doesn't catch the eye.

Well #Today I am going to try my hand at perogen. I have never made them before. But my Baba used to. I can remember holding one with both hands (probably because I was very small) and loving every bite. So #tonight it will be Perogen and tzimmes for dinner Day 7 #chanakah #HappyChanuka #hanukkah
Sadly, they did not turn out as good as Baba's. (Surprise!) But with the sauce for the Tzimmes they were ok.
Next year I will make them with white flour. LOL
