I happen not to be nearly as anti-AI as a lot of people here. Aware of the hazards and bubble, of course. But also seeing utility and value everyone might not see. And believing it’s inevitable—like the internet—even in a market crash.
I’m not looking to argue here. I’ll preemptively stipulate to any objection.
But as a pragmatist I’ll offer this advice: If only as a hedge, to position yourself as THE human in the loop, become the professional who knows how to optimize its use for what you do.

Very sorry to hear Stephanie Cole died.
She was only 48 when she started playing retiree Diana Trent on WAITING FOR GOD and it tripped out a couple decades later when she looked so different as an actual elderly woman woman that I didn't recognize her.
Swell at any age, of course. RIP

Let’s go ask some MAGA types about the importance of Portugal, the Netherlands and the UK. (I’d expect a mix of dismissal, derision and, perhaps, laughter.)
Then point out—because the odds are REALLY good they don’t know—that they enjoyed a sequence of hegemonic power until the US took over in the 20th century. Hegemony never lasts forever and there are so many signs we’re losing whatever influence we still had before Trump blew it all up.

Good god, man, whether we need it isn’t the point. The problem is what it means. The world no longer trusts or respects us—and fears us only inasmuch as whatever lunatic thing Trump might do next.
And—bitch, please—playing this off as Europe having a collective ‘oh, yeah, where’s our gold again?’ FOUR DECADES after the Cold War ended is embarrassing.

Reading Belle Burden’s memoir and something that always makes me happy is when someone adores a stepparent.
Really says something that—even 25 years after Belle’s father died—her stepmother isn’t only far more present than her mother in the story she’s telling, but the one she called immediately when her husband left her.

Dan Tanna sometimes frustrates the hell out of me. This is a woman he used to know, who fell on hard times, who witnessed her friend being killed. She's experiencing DTs and repeatedly begging for a drink. He says he'll help her pro bono but only if she goes cold turkey.
Christ, Dan, give the woman a drink. She's a mess, she literally needs it and you can deal with the alcoholism later.

Horrifying but not surprising. I wonder if this will have any implications though?
