I bought a bag of Omni food for the dogs to try. I cut the bag open to let them sample a couple of kibbles to see what they thought. The samples were happily devoured by all three.
But then I heard the telltale #cronch cronch cronch.
So I emptied the contents into the storage container and put the empty bag by the front door to deal with later.
And I think we’ve got a winner.

I think I might be getting my sourdough mojo back. I’d lost it for a while. The loaf may look a bit anemic but was baked through and the crust good and cronchy!

The Man just made this recipe for the 2nd time, in case anyone likes their walnuts or pecans spicy and a little sweet.
They're quite addicting. And cronchy (as darth would say.)

mini-project announcement!! (but finally something new)
https://codeberg.org/valpackett/argon2ian is #argon2 built as #wasm #webassembly for evergreen browsers and #deno, but like, size-optimized for real. Only 8.5 KB for the whole async (web workers powered) JS wrapper, and that's with everything inline, no external file loads at all – completely bundle-able like a normal JS module. No text encoding for the hashes though, just the raw stuff.
p.s. if anyone is interested in cronching some other library like this, you could maybe hire me for such a project :) -
@RuVerb it's such a fun fuzz- between the clipping diode combos and the voltage knob, it's all over the place and super cronchy. Love it, and the folks at #walrusaudio are the nicest. Also, the Halberd is so, so, so awesome.

A walk in the sunshine is good for the soul on these short November days. It's been dry for a few days now and the fallen leaves are deliciously cronchy underfoot. #woods #autumn #Clackmannanshire

Yep, definitely delicious. Also, some walnuts in the base crust provide a bit of cronch. Yum! #Nanaimo #NanaimoBar #VIU #VancouverIslandUniversity

Yay, the Brownville Deer Pantry has started yearly feeding. No deer currently because it's snowing like mad, but it's a great place to see and hear deer cronching food.

CW: re: A Thread of Bread Day!
And here we go. The result of about 36 hours of bread-making, we have here two oblong (batarde-ish) long-rise sourdough loaves. Started with 1 kilo of flour and 720ml of water, so I ended up with two nice sized loaves.
The levain for this was started Tuesday evening (25g mature starter, 150g whole wheat flour, 150ml water) and then incorporated into the autolyse on Wednesday at 8:30am. Fermentation from 9am to 5ish pm with folds every 30-45 minutes, then shaped and let finish proving in the fridge overnight. Based on the dough consistency, I over-fermented by about 30 minutes, but it doesn't seem to have done much harm. I'll make sure to get a cross-section once they're cooled.
Baked at 465F in an oblong, enameled cast-iron Dutch oven, for 35 minutes with the lid on and 11 minutes with the lid off. I use parchment paper to transfer the loaf into the pan, which helps also keep the bottom from being so cronchy I can't slice it. These are lighter golden since again - personal preference from the person they're baked for - too crunchy is sometimes offputting, so I try to bake to the ideals of my targeted eaters!
I obviously didn't score the second loaf quite well enough and had a bit of a blow-out, but that's fine, it adds character, right?
These loaves are a gift to a friend, since my holiday meal today has been delayed to Sunday. I'll be making bread again Friday night into Sunday morning for my own family.

The cat food is in a system in the cupboard. The system was designed so that a quick look would tell you if they had, in fact, been fed or not when they screamed at you for existing near the food cupboard.
They are on a strict diet as they are smol and have cronchy bed time treats so they don't get fat.
I have discovered today that someone has ruined the lovely system in the food cupboard. This has been achieved by the cats obviously sounding soooo terribly starved when someone else went to feed them because I was in a meeting that they were fed way more food than they should have been.

Absolutely made up to be coming away from Golden Demon at #WarhammerFest with a finalist pin! It's been a goal of mine for a huge time, and I'm so proud to get through the cut in such a competitive field. Good luck to the painters competing for the trophies! #WarhammerCommunity

Good morning everyone 🌞 I'm up early with the parrots today and have just put Ziggy in after a brief cuddle, and some biting, since this morning she has decided that my right hand offends her and has been attacking it. No idea what the poor hand has done to deserve this, but she's rightly miffed by it that's for sure. I often think that they should send us parrot people to the first encounter with an alien race. We're definitely the most experienced in alien behaviour that's for sure 😂
I finally managed to track down the missing yarn delivery that Royal Mail say I had asked to be left in my safe place ( I hadn't since we were home all day) which turned out to be stuffed behind a neighbour's pot plant on their back step, so I'll be able to make a start on the competition toy tomorrow as well as working on the latest crochet order.
Today is co-op BG3 day though. Last week we had an absolute blast in the Mausoleum, figuring out puzzles and taking on, and defeating the Orthon, which was really tough - both Gale and Shadowheart were dead by the end and Ethera perilously close to it. Even Grognak was on low health and not a healing spell or potion between us. But we managed it in the end; Ethera using her flying ability to stay out of reach of the merregons and recasting Call Lighting and Grognak just battering the heck out of everything 😊 Looking forward to more adventures today!
Have a very lovely day, whatever you get up to. Have fun. It's the elixir of Life 🤗

I did it! Almost had the last row finished last night, but it was bedtime so I did the last few stitches this morning instead.
Now just to wait for it to dry from this half-hearted pre-blocking, seam the front and back panels together, add a border round the bottom, realise it's indecently short and add more border again, block it properly, weave in all the ends, and hope like hell the blue slip I've ordered to go under it fits because that was surprisingly hard to find on the modern internet.
Basically done, right?! 😅
