Originally Bella was supposed to be her deadpan pre-mutation self throughout the story, for a bit of an Opposites Attract thing between her & Quackerjack.
But then while watching a dance performance of “Takedown” from KPDH, the image and the idea her becoming a plant mutant with tree branch antlers came to me and I found that a lot more interesting to work with.
