  1. @wsvincent @django @felixxm @carlton @djangocon Yes, it feels really good to see that idea for developer sprints become something real with Django On The Med 🏖️

You should totally join one of the next ones, you were there when the whole idea first came up! 🙌

  2. @wsvincent Thanks Will ☺️ I’m glad you liked it! I was pleased to finally get the Ben-Hur clip in! 🎬

  3. @wsvincent makes total sense!
I've come to rely kn @brianokken and @mkennedy systematic date-stamping of their episodes, maybe that's a feedback point for #DjangoChat? cc. @carlton

  4. @wsvincent in the latest #DjangoChat episode, you mentioned a talk in Boston happening in the coming days about the User model (leaning on @carlton's ideas). Will you link to the slides here when ready by any chance? #Django

  5. @wsvincent Ah, very good. Touché 🤺

Alas, I got one open already, just had my lunch, got a data migration to write, and then it’s blindly click the Button™, and run away until Monday.

  6. @djangochat @wsvincent @carlton I was checking GitHub and realized that Sara opened an issue with exactly the same idea I had after listening to the Django Chat episode about Django 6.0. I only noticed it today and this really surprised me 😄

Sara opened the issue, then Natalia commented on it, and after listening to the same episode I ended up commenting too. Same podcast, same ideas, different places, all crossing in one thread 🤯

  7. Thanks @wsvincent — glad you liked it! 🤗

I tend to upset people when I talk about software licensing, but since that seems to be the case anyway, I might just take it on 🥳

  8. @djangochat @carlton @wsvincent Continuing to talk about Django and PostgreSQL, a Django Chat episode on the recent merge of the Psycopg 3.1+ backend with @felixxm , @apollo13 and @psycopg would be interesting. 🎙️

As an anticipation we had a great keynote from Daniele Varrazzo at PyCon Italia 2022 @pycon 🇮🇹

  14. A brilliant day on the golf course with @wsvincent today!

Thanks for making the trip! Looking forward to the re-match stateside!

  15. I wanted to let @carlton, @wsvincent and @CodenameTim know that you are indirectly with me on the train to Venice, because you are keeping me company with the latest excellent episode of @djangochat 🚆

A truly enjoyable episode, which gave me a couple of ideas, which I hope I will have time to share 💡

I obviously recommend everyone to listen it 🎧

    Have a good weekend 👋

  16. Great #djangochat episode, @CodenameTim @carlton @wsvincent

I'm now thinking that we as a community should reclaim the word "just". Just do it isn't such a bad slogan really. Yes, it always takes time and energy, and we don't always have it. I certainly don't right now. But, "just" could help us see that things do not always have to be complicated. Small steps are good.

  17. I finally found the time to listen to the latest episode of 🎙️

@wsvincent and @carlton made a great of US 2022 and also shared their point of view on the renewed enthusiasm in the community 👏

    A podcast to subscribe to 👇 djangochat.com/episodes/django

  18. I'm in the middle of the latest #DjangoChat episode, where @carlton and @wsvincent talk to @webology about all sorts of interesting things. Jeff raised an interesting question -- how come the same people tend to be for Class-based views but func-based tests, and vice versa?

As one who uses both, but prefers func-based-views and UnitTest, my take is that it's not just class-vs-function; I have issues with pytest, specifically, and would probably prefer a less magical func-based test framework.

  19. This morning I joined an interview at the @jetbrains booth during PyCon US 2026 🎤

It was a really interesting experience being interviewed by @wsvincent

Thanks also to Alex for the audio/video support, @pauleveritt for the “security service” during the interview 😄, and Kristel for the assistance around the booth ✨

  20. I'm at Girona airport waiting for my flight back to Pescara 🐬

Thanks to all the members of the @django community who trusted us and joined us in Palafrugell 🏖️

I still remember talking about the Django Sprints first with @felixxm , Simon Charette, @carlton and @wsvincent at @djangocon 2022 in San Diego 🌴

Special thanks to Carlton for believing in this idea and for carrying the weight of organizing the first edition. 🤗

    Carlton, we did it! 🙌

  21. 🏆 and the award for the smallest Venn Diagram Intersection of 2024 goes to...

...people in the Python/Django Community that play golf! ⛳

One of my absolute highlights from this year was playing golf with @wsvincent

Let me know if you play regularly and I'll create a group-chat somewhere for all of us to chat golf and Python/Django...

We might even have enough people to make up a fourball for a round at both DjangoCons next year!
