    Note that there is more than twice as much auxerrois as pinot blanc, though most auxerrois is bottled as pinot blanc. And there is as much auxerrois as pinot gris.
    I wonder, 25 years from now, how much syrah there will be. I recently took delivery of my first case of Alsatian syrah (Vin de France) by Meyer-Fonné.

  2. @wineecon Grenache is bafflingly low. I'm guessing the Colombard and Chenin are mostly grown in the Central Valley for jug wine, and they're probably harvested as soon as they're ripe to retain acidity. Quality Chenin from the Jurassic Park vineyard tends to end up around 13% abv from the examples I've seen. #brix

    Since Chassagne is now mostly white, I guess market demand eventually trumped yield variation or other concerns. Chardonnay pays better there.
