In that hallowed first year of the show, I sent Larry "Bud" Melman a fan letter. He (or an NBC intern) sent me this autographed photo. It has graced my walls on a couple of occasions. I think it will again, starting tonight.I was lucky enough to see Mr. Melman in person at The Other Cafe in San Francisco, on his nationwide comedy tour (1984, I think).
Late night TV was never funnier or more original than in the early years of that program.

I remember watching it when it aired. Today it would be tame, then it was a little shocking, voyeur-like, to watch back then.Lance Loud went on to be out and an actor, most notably to me as one of the bitchy queens in the serial adaptation of #TalesOfTheCity by #ArmisteadMaupin

@willmckinley My nieces still loved it when it reran here a few years ago now, #JulieNewmar's glooorious #Catwoman maybe the most, so it still works if people just get to see it.
Unfortunately they never show S3 here, but even the first 2 being on TV is welcome the rare times it happens.
I'm undecided on whether I like or liked #GreenHornet more than #Batman66, so put me down for both if they're on.

@willmckinley After the clip of Groucho in The Mikado, I immediately went to Amazon to order The Mikado on DVD. I guess a lot of viewers had the same idea because I ran into one “sold-out” after another. Finally snagged a copy at DeepDiscountDVD. Whew!
