In 2019 I worked as co-producer on a short film, Blank Shores. Key pieces of the film were shot at No.1 the Thames, an old grain tower off the coast of Kent that's just been sold. It's a fantastic location which brought with it some interesting challenges for filming and gave us stories to remember.

The Blackening fails to live up to the promise of the trailer, delivering a decidedly average horror comedy that is light on both horror and comedy.
The likeable cast isn't enough to elevate a script this predictable and lacking in the basic requirements of the genres it sits within. If you're not going to deliver those elements, I'd at least appreciate a few buckets of gore, but we don't even get that.

Wrapped up The Night Agent on Netflix, a show clearly aiming for the 24 market, but it's just not as action packed or as well cast across the board.
