  1. @vaughnsc

It used to be owned and created by #Google. They then sold it, and it just didn't get updated and improved over the years.

The UI and design are outdated, and they lack many modern features.

I moved to #DesignSpark, but thersdoc format isn't used by many in the #3dprinting world and I needed parametric designs and the timeline featue, so I moved so #Fusion360 as my daily driver and #OpenSCAD for simpler parametric designs I intend to share with others.

  2. If Poland Spring truck traffic suddenly doubles and triples (and the wells run dry), we'll know that's what happened. And with all the secrecy, that's the only way we'll find out! @LetsRoc @exador23 @vaughnsc

  3. @retech @Jilanico Gawd, maybe no one else has these specific #colorblindness problems but two things still piss me off, one common the other maybe not so much:

    • Miniscule green/orange status LEDs (looking at you #Apple) and

    • Getting Ethernet wires in the right order for crimping the RJ-45 terminals (of course they’d use white with thin green and orange lines)

  8. I don’t see this happening; anecdotally, there is already pushback on the disappearance of physical controls in newer cars.

How would you reliably force-restart a ‘frozen’ smartphone (using a paperclip to reset is a button albeit hidden)? #fatChance #noThanks mastodon.social/@br00t4c/11303

  9. @Nonilex There’s a camera and microphone in plain sight, is this the ‘secret video footage’? #levity

  15. @NanoRaptor Ah Deluxe Paint on an Amiga if my eyes and memory don’t deceive. I tried what you did in Sep. 1989. A hurricane kinda splashed cold water on that. #holdAndModify

  16. @jamie Several projects out there tackling this but they all involve *effort* #ohTheHumanity

  17. @chrisod @jcrabapple Ok I came along a tad later than @MexicanYenta 👋 but my first definitive recollections of ‘world news’ was 1) reading in ‘The Weekly Reader’ about Nixon’s resignation while in third grade. Looking for a clipping, I was reminded of the earlier, perhaps less globe-spanning news of 2) Roberto #Clemente’s plane crash and death in early 1972; I was in #PuertoRico at the time and you ‘couldn’t *not* know’ about it.

  18. @ianRobinson Nah, that’s not on you; I decided I wasn’t going to micro-blog the ‘klutz chronicles.’

Your faithful respondent encountered a slippery sidewalk handicapped ramp (it had rained) during a morning walk. Shortly thereafter had the privilege of shelling about a month’s salary to have a few bits and bobs of hardware screwed in. Yes, I’m ‘insured.’

I’m actually feeling ‘lucky’: I’ve been fairly flush in recent times. More often than not in my life, far from it.

See this could devolve into a tirade about the piss poor safety net on this side of the pond.

I may as well retoot and ‘extol the blessings’ /s 😂 #thisSucks

  19. @scully @Topslakr @MonaApp Yeah, Mona is also just a ‘reader’ unless you pay the piper, but it is a solid performer; I had 0 qualms paying the developer once the TestFlight beta expired #TANSTAAFL

  20. @FairLight Esto de #moldmaking lo tengo en la mirilla hace tiempo; agradezco enterarme de los tropiezos 👍

  21. @papachote @Madbasketballer Ooh. Have not, however… “there’s no time like the present.”
