Want dynamically-generated clickable links in the Positron console to your {targets} pipeline, across all your files, so you can immediately jump to an error or jump to a long-running target and inspect it? 🌳tarborist has your back!*
*as long as you're okay building a custom version of Positron from source with a completely new ConsoleLinkProvider API😜

‼️ Big rayimage update (v0.23.0)! In addition to 'JPEG', 'PNG', 'TIFF', and 'EXR' files, `ray_read_image()` now supports loading 'TGA', 'BMP', 'PSD', 'GIF', 'HDR', 'PIC', and 'PNM' files (thanks to stb_image): It's a one-stop shop for bringing image data into R.

‼️ Rayverse package update: rayvertex v0.14.0 released! This overhauls the toon shading algorithm to use a screen space jump fill algorithm (JFA), removing the brittle inverse mesh hack that existed up until now.

‼️ Update: {raybevel} is now on the CRAN! Now rendering tens of thousands of 3D buildings in rayshader is just an `install.packages("raybevel")` away!

Just added an option to enable transparency for image renders in #rayrender when initial rays escape the scene: this was requested a long time ago (https://github.com/tylermorganwall/rayrender/issues/21) and I thought it was a good idea, but I only just got around to it so I could make a nice clean render of this hex logo for the upcoming #raybevel package! Look at those beautiful anti-aliased transparent edges.

If you use #RStats {targets} in #PositronIDE , you probably want this extension (at least the newest one, which I see as v0.5.3).
Hover over a target, and it tells you how many targets depend on it. Click on that number, and it lists them ALL! It's like a listing version of tar_network()!

My 30 entries for #30DayMapChallenge 2023. Managed to do all save one (Day 5) with #rayshader, #rayrender, or #rayvertex in #rstats. Made possible by @tylermorganwall, who's created a marvellous world of light and shadow accessible with a language that's "only for stats".

I was inspired by a recent {rayshader} creation of @nrennie to make some hexicles.

Day 25: Yayoi Kusama
This piece draws inspiration from the Kusama's Infinity Mirrors. I got to use some of my favorite R packages: #ggplot, #SimpleFeatures, and #rayrender. Three outputs are shown here, with glossy, diffuse, and metallic spheres.
Coded in #Rstats. The code is available in my #genuary2023 repo:

This is a homage to @terence whose shattered tessellations I've long admired:

I haven't figured out how he creates the cracks. Here, I borrowed an L-system from A. Sanchez Chinchon to smash a Voronoi tessellation.

I can’t emphasize how much I like the legend that also tells you the proportion of the whole the variable represents! It’s quite difficult to parse proportions with such a disconnected set, so this is a clever way of including it in a figure.

I released an update for 🌳tarborist last night! Along with bugfixes, this version brings more info on the depth of child nodes in the hover pane and DAG distance in the file picker. Most importantly, you can now hover over a target in your {targets} pipeline and get a link to jump right to it—even if it's in an entirely different file. Make navigating the pipeline much quicker.
