Remember the dotcom boom pricing model? Sell it at a loss, expand the user base, for years with expectation that economy of scale will lead to profit.
The fact that they are converting to a usage-based pricing model so quickly tells you they are losing their ass on this!!!
Also, for those prior dotcoms, the costs didn't grow so fast by usage (heavily driven by R&D and marketing). #GenAI #LLMs have a voracious appetite for silicon, electricity, and cash!

There’s a lot of reasons to be opposed to USA war in Iran, but my conviction that any action we take will only leave the world in a worse place is at the top of my list. This administration is laughably incompetent compared to the one that started the US invasion in Iraq in 2003, and we saw how that turned out.

Hey Scott, I have not decided what to think about LLMs and copyrights.
I saw the word Data analyst in your Bio, so I suppose you have some knowledge in #DataScience and #DataEngineering.
I am myself trained in #MachineLearning and a bit in #neuralnetworks but I am far far far far far away from being any close to an expert. I can use them, efficiently sometimes. Sometimes not: there are problems I am still bad at solving with them.
I am still learning the Transformers stuffs and other types of layers used in Deep Learning. That's huge stuff. For me at least.
Could you clear that doubt I have when I read your messages:

At my level of understanding: memorizing == overfitting
that means that the model cannot extrapolate or even interpolate between values of the training set.This is something that I have categorized as a real flaw. If any of my models overfits, I consider it broken. I throw it away, it will not perform good on any unexpected input.
Could you explain me how "memorizing" would differ in your vision?
Don't hesitate to simplify things, I am not an expert yet at #transformer and #LLM

Upper left corner is row 1 col 1.
If r12c13 is filled in:Then (green) r12c9 through r12c12 must also be filled in, r11c10 through r11c13 must also be filled in, r9c9 and r9c10 must also be filled in.

Is it too late for someone early 50s to decide they want to abandon their data analytics career (BA, MS, 30 years experience), and start a new path studying television academically? Uh, asking for a friend.
Incidentally, what would be a good title for a thesis studying the left-at-the-altar trope, and how and why it appears much more frequently in sitcoms than in real life, and maybe explore some sociological intersections with that?
