Just look for example at Gnome and KDE. In the beginning I could use both because both Gnome and KDE were easily modified. When Gnome went a different direction I dropped using it. However there were still many hundreds of thousands of people who liked the way Gnome went
Just as there were also many hundreds of thousands of people who loved the way that KDE kept going.Now we are decades further and the Smart Ones under us realize that Gnome needs KDE to exist and visa versa.

@samurro We're talking about a 250 page supplement that covers way more than just the six things that were covered in that video. Those are just the high points.
So – compared to the content that you get in a lot of game supplements these days, even if you were to use just 1/3 of it, you would probably be ahead of the game as it were.
Given that it is also largely applicable back to my space game, with discussions of ship combat, fleets, multi crew management, further stuff on exploration, expansion of ideas on factions and empires if that's what I want to go with… For me, it's way more than worth it. $40 for a coil bound, beautifully laid out book and which includes the PDF? Absolutely worth it.
I would argue that if you do not have Starforged yet, the $106 backing position which gets you hard copies of everything, including the original Asset deck, the perfect bound hardback of the core rules, and Sundered Isles is disturbingly generous.
But it all depends on what is a reasonable price for you to pay for what are essentially luxury goods, because if you are like the classic TTRPG fan, a broke college student, the PDFs will be fine. You can always print them out at the college library, three ring punch those motherfuckers, and be better than good to go.
But you don't have to.

@samurro My main pdf processor is #pdfcpu which is just wonderful.
It is a library written in #Go whcih comes with a cli and I was able to replace most of my #Ghostscript scripts with it.
Extracting, splitting, converting, rotating, putting watermarks etc. can all be done with it and I am always surprised how few people know it 😄 -

So #Capcom release the demo version of #monsterhunterstories3twistedreflection on most platforms, I was planing to buy the game for #Switch2 but the small bit I played had lackluster performance, the game barely held the 30 fps. CW: Baldur's Gate 3 Story Spoiler
So I finally finished the game. My final verdict, 8/10. The game is strongly overrated, there is little to no emotional draw. The combat system is ridiculous, you either play the dies (aka reload) or you cheese (aka abuse the system with some overpowered stuff). I really hope #larianstudios has the ability to deliver a better story without the shackles of #dnd.

When are we getting #metaphorrefantazio for #Switch2 #atlus? Also can you please put more effort in ports for the Switch 2, the previews for #persona3reload haven't looked the smoothest. Atlus has become such a big name in the rpg sphere, but it seems their technical delivery is lacking, esp. on #Nintendo consoles, which is really sad.

Just finished #thewitcher3wildhunt for the first time ever. I think the game is way to big and falls extremely flat because of its ambitions. Combat is terrible, plot is chaotic at best. And all the decision which you make throughout the game don't really get carried over in later dialogues. I didn't touch the DLCs yet, but right now i would give the game a 8/10 at best. Very sad and I think #Cyberpunk2077 is a much better game overall.
