Lol, concentration of votes matters, for sure.

Federalist parties in Canada, however, are also opposed to proportional representation because not only did the Bloc gain more seats than its votes under #fptp, under a #PR system, they would likely get even more seats, as people would be less reluctant to vote Bloc, this increasing the risk of another independence referendum.

There has to be an #Accordion connection 🪗 👻 here right? 🥁

Curiously, almost long as they’ve existed, Accordions have been connected to the otherworldly through the #spiritualist movement by figures like #DanielDunglasHome who had the dead play accordion in #séances 🎺

  12. 1/ @rorystarr asked me about some ideas for folklore-themed dungeons - specifically, dungeons that are connected to the "Feywild". So I took a look at my repository of translations of German folk tales, and here is what I found.

But first, a word about definitions. German folklore almost never uses the German equivalent of "fairie" ("Fee"). Instead, a more common term is "Geist", which is a direct translation of "spirit" - and can describe almost any supernatural entity.

Thus, in my exploration of this theme I have limited myself to places linked to entities which are (a) not clearly ghosts, and (b) not clearly demons. This is as close as we will get to "fairies", I am afraid...

  13. Not only does my annotated edition of The Complete Norwegian Folktales and Legends of Asbjørnsen & Moe contain the collectors' notes from the first two original volumes (the folktales), but I have also compiled notes on every single folktale in the first two volumes, and every hulder tale and folk legend in the third volume.

Listen to @rorystarr reading the editor's note on “The Three Billy-Goats Bruse” from the first volume:

Then, of course, it’s just a tiny click to find out more about these huge books:

  18. Okay, I _think_ I have come up with a concept for adding random banners to the "Sunken Castles, Evil Poodles" wiki, using the "WikidataPageBanner" and "RandomSelection" extensions for #MediaWiki - although I need to test it to make sure (hopefully I will find time for this next week). The downside is that I will have to add the markup for the banner to each and every page - tedious, but at least I will only have to do it once. The resulting banners should have the same size and placement as the banners on Wikivoyage (see the link for examples).

Obviously, one thing I want to do is flog my book and my Patreon (if I want to maintain a full-time lifestyle as an adventurer-folklorist, I will have to hustle for it). But I could also create banners for:

    - Interesting themes on my wiki (mountain legends, tales of Venetians, and so on and so forth)
    - Link to people who have been using my translations in their own projects (looking at you, @rorystarr )
    - Link to other interesting #folklore projects in general

Any other suggestions on what I could create banners for?
