The US is looking less like a democracy and more like a plutocracy, where billionaires buy political influence and ordinary people get sidelined.
We have our own Musk wannabes in Gina Rinehart, Twiggy Forrest and their ilk. Wealth shouldn’t buy political power. We cannot let Australia’s democracy become another playground for oligarchs.
Don’t be fooled by One Nation’s promises. Look at who funds them and who stands to benefit. The promises may never eventuate, but the policies can still serve the mega wealthy.
