  1. 11 days of testing something that was created in 11 minutes - without being able to discuss what was the plan for those 11 days.

This is not the future we should have.

  2. Senior Azure DevOps Engineer. 59.80 € / hr. Someone just won a bid selling seniors with less than 60 € an hour. Does not compute for me.

  3. Delivered an AI SDLC project, all the way to production today. Started this in June, and have to say that while developers report this to be "3-5x without AI" after it was done, the same developers estimated it at 80% of what it took in effort. Meanwhile, on board room level, we were honestly hoping for 50% of the effort.

So now, I am reflecting what are the changes I would need I order to truly cut the effort.

  4. Analyzed a project that we just delivered, successfully. Except we had higher expectations to what success looks like. Yep, AI.

We expected to come up with a significantly higher degree of automation than what we did. While we (devs) report that without the tooling we used it would have been 3--5x the effort, the others report 0.5x our effort doing it *differently* with their tools.

What fascinates me the most is the time when we run automation that should have been unattended, but ended up attending for 200 hours. We did something while the automation was running. And we accepted the automation run slower than any reasonable expectation should allow for.

  5. Observing this case further, I come to conclusion that there was a bug I did not call out. I wonder if I should have, or if I was already late to do anything about it.

  6. Rejecting a candidate based on not asking questions and seeing problems when testing an app. The followup conversation is they need a job to learn these skills.

The school taught them how to write a robot framework script, but not why would you be doing that. And I wonder if it is reasonable to expect your work to teach you the work, when someone taught you tools.
