@legallaurak @robotdeathsquad power just went out here in #CamasWA. Running #greenhouse (propane igniter and fan) and house pellet stove on generator. Rigged up internet and other small stuff on battery power (which can be recharged on solar power). Last Saturday power was out as well for ~13 hours. Still need to find a good solution for the 220v well pump.
There’s some nice small generators to be had for essentials. Make sure you get an “inverter” generator to cleanly power electronics.

So I had to go visit ... I have two accounts, one for legal/professional connections and one for my spare time work with exchange students and cultural exchange. My @legallaurak account is a reflection of what we can see in our timelines here with people repeating who's been suspended, saying they're done, etc. etc.. My other account though, was as though nothing has happened. People tweeting about #IntlEd and cultural exchange as usual. Two different worlds.

@calecodes I think my dogs consider me the automatic feeder. If I walk into the kitchen there's a mad dog rush to follow me and stare at me with the same kind of sad dog eyes I think your pupper is using to convince her feeder to give her food.

They don't get paid and the #TwitterMigration has increased the cost of hosting a server. Every time EM does something moronic, there's a sudden influx.
Be kind, be patient. Your server may have another slowdown as we're all online and more people are signing up. Give your admin some time.

I'm a lawyer and have a bunch of lawyer colleagues, I work on climate and have connections there, and I work with #internationalstudents so have that as well. I haven't had trouble connecting with people on different servers -- I feel that it's more a matter of getting the people who work in #intled to come over. A lot of the people I know are still hanging onto Twitter.

@OldSquida2 My GSDs are nowhere near so careful with stuffed animals ... they do love indestructible toys like Kongs and deer antlers, doing their best to prove to us they can eventually break whatever it is into pieces. At least it takes awhile before they suceed! 😂
