  2. I updated the custom computer system I made to help me photograph the 2017 . It now has a graphic display, more user input, and new software to use this hardware and to help photograph the eclipse this April. It uses data from NASA and a GPS receiver to work out when totality will occur to within a second. It also presents data on the sun position to help make a wide-angle time-lapse of the event.

  4. A mother photographs her son on the Cape Canaveral while a flock of looks on. I got this picture less than an hour after the second New Glenn rocket launch.

  5. It's the Macro SD card! Lots of storage, and space for small cards, too! Unfortunately, the carrying strap isn't included.
I love the vintage video look.

  8. After an update to 1.8, my sometimes seems to think it has a reverse gear. Worse, it thinks it is reversing while it also thinks it is parked. When this happens, I can't bring up any menu until I hit one of two buttons with an X; after that, it properly realizes it is parked.

I can reproduce this by moving forward into a parking spot in a parking lot, bringing up the camera view, and then parking. For some reason, this doesn't cause the issue in my tiny garage.

  9. Here are some pictures I took on the #beach before the last Atlas V launch. They were all taken early in the morning. Some show what I think are structures that are part of LC-36, which is used by Blue Origin for their New Glenn rocket. The Jetty Park pier is also visible.

  14. I saw the Atlas V launch this past Monday and got some good pictures. My favorite shows the separation of the last two solid rocket boosters. It even has the first three boosters that separated earlier; they are small red-ish dots against the sky.

  15. I was ready to photograph an Atlas V launch from Playalinda Beach last Monday, but it is still on the ground. For the next launch attempt, the sun will make photographing it challenging. I think a spot south of the launch site will be needed, but not yet sure I'm going to try.

  16. I got a new car at the end of February. It's a and the second I've owned. I'm told they are popular in Europe, but I haven't yet seen another over here in the US. I've taken it on a road trip where I drove about 620 miles one way in a day; don't know why there are reviewers saying the EX30 isn't good for such a trip. The worst part was the car complaining my hands weren't on the wheel when driving on long straight stretches of highway, which got very annoying.

  17. About a month ago, I attended the Huntsville Comic & Pop Culture Expo in , . Here are a few pictures from the event.
