  1. @jadag88 @evelyntheriault it's been an awesome experience so far. I like the coffeeshop visual. Next round is on me ☕

Put the tools to manage #loonies and bad actors into the hands of the #community, and we'll sort them out & discover along the way that we actually like other people... go figure.

After social media the next stops this train needs to make are #government & #religion - those #systems could use an enema or three!

Just voted in our local city council election. It’s always such a good feeling to get out and vote, especially during the early voting period.

  7. My husband just discovered this YouTube channel called Allens Alliance and shared it with me. He just posted some videos on how to approach #TheDivision2 in a way that makes it more manageable for beginner solo players, and I’m finding it helpful even as a veteran player. The link is to the first of 6 videos, with a 7th still to come. #Gaming #TheDivision #SoloPlayers

  8. Will Bunch’s column today highlighted a term that I hadn’t heard before: neighborism. He defined it as “the powerful reaction from often non-political Americans” to the thuggery of ICE, people standing up for others in their community in a way they never have before. It’s an interesting column and worth a read.

    Three good things:

    1. Spending lunch with hubby at one of our old haunts.

    2. A crackling fire bringing warmth to the living room.

    3. A cat purring in my lap as I wind down from the day.

  15. Radio station 91.7 KXT played Mississippi John Hurt’s “definitive” version of “Stack O Lee” which has been re-made many times (with versions named “Stagger Lee”, “Stagolee”, etc.) and led me down a rabbit hole to the cosmic horror novella “My Heart Struck Sorrow” by John Hornor Jacobs and now apparently I must find a copy of “A Lush and Seething Hell.”

    Three good things:

    1. Started the writing for my upcoming podcast episode reviewing “Tim and Robot”.

    2. Steak dinner ordered in before the Trick or Treating begins.

    3. Wine, cheesecake, and the KXT 91.7 app playing Halloween-themed music as I sit on the front porch giving out candy.

  21. Watching CT on YouTube restoring a 1965 VW Beetle, we’ve come to the rebuilding of the engine and motor installation. Knowing virtually nothing about cars, I asked hubby (whose dad worked on cars) the difference between motor and engine. He gave me a link to MIT School of Engineering. Now I pass it on for the edification of those who, like me, know just enough to drive cars and take them to a professional for repairs. engineering.mit.edu/engage/ask
