all humans can fly. alas, only in one direction… down.
but you can comfort yourself in knowing that it isn’t the fall that kills you, it’s that sudden stop at the bottom.

just finished a late breakfast of warm from the oven cinnamon rolls. yum!

it’s great to hear that #LumaTouch is expanding their reach like that, though I won’t be using #LumaFusion on either of my Android devices and will likely never give a crap about ChromeOS. I’m quite happy with the iPad for the kind of videos I normally make. so far even the fancier videos I’ve tried have been handled well by what I’ve got to work with.
this just means that other folk can put their visions together easily. that’s a good thing!

tablets, specifically my (4th gen) iPad Air, are *vital* if you make videos and are unable to spend $400+ on Final Cut Pro or its equivalent on other platforms.
I edit with #LumaFusion, which currently only works on iOS. (I understand they’re working on a #Linux version now, but my Linux box is old and slow.)
LumaFusion cost me about $30, and I think it’s still around that price point.
editing videos is what lured me over to the dark side, aka Apple products.

Youtube sure has my number. the #dance is an (apparently somewhat glammed up version) of an #Argentinian dance called the Malambo. it’s accompanied by 3 drummers and the dancer has a boleadora in each hand.
I *do* like the unusual (to me, anyway) and this guy just tears it up. -
if any of y’all are paying attention you’ll have realized that I have a large spectrum of music that I enjoy. even stuff you could legitimately describe as, “That’s really weird, man.” that’s cool.
I find myself really attracted to “throat singing” and the large range of tribal cultures who’ve independently developed similar styles.

lurking around in one of my multitudinous notebooks full of partially written songs is one titled, “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.”the only thing blocking its completion is my #MasterProcrastinator status.

new kicks.
an early Xmas present. my old sneakers were cheap to start with and 6+ years have done them no favors. these are made by a company called Kizik. they slip on and off with no hands nor shoehorn needed.
I’ve wanted a pair of red shoes for a long time. and they’re comfy too.
I probably should learn that Elvis Costello tune.

Hoo boy! Finding the full lyrics to Minnie the Moocher is quite the quest. Especially when you consider the fact that it’s an easy to play 3 chord song.
It just shouldn’t be that hard.
If you’d like them, DM me your email address and I’ll send them along.

someone suggested occasionally posting 5 to 7 hashtags of things you enjoy that aren’t necessarily in your profile. so, leave us start with a small sampling of the kinds of music I like.
#jazz (especially old #hotjazz)
#blues (all sorts)
#hokum (sorta ragtimey and often with “naughty” lyrics)
#jugband (British folk would call this #skiffle)
#junkmusic (music played on things that aren’t actually musical instruments. the washboard I played with a number of bands fits in here.)
