I sure hope we'll have a panel discussion about #GitOps at #continuouslifecycle again!
As far as I remember, we did discuss it last year. I still remember my conclusion: Like everything else GitOps is no silver bullet. Myself and a growing number of people see value in it. You don't. I presume we'll agree to disagree this year again. Or are you're going to tell me that I'm full of 🐂💩?

I had the pleasure to attend JCON 2024 (@jcon) in Cologne this week. It was a well organized community conference. I talked with a lot of people. I also gave a talk about SBOMs on the third day.

It was nice to meet (again) with @bukama, @SimonMartinelli, @sippsack, @bmarwell, @patbaumgartner, @hgutoot, @RichardFichtner, @khmarbaise, @michaelvitz, @mgrygles, @rabauer

The cat waited patiently in the supermarket for a sales clerk to come with a pack of cat food and accompany her outside.

I am surprised that ‘trunk-based development’ is not one of DORA's core capabilities.
This capability in particular is the basis for implementing efficient and low-maintenance CI/CD pipelines.
Otherwise you end up with a situation where the pipeline code is more complex than the application code. Anyone who has ever had to implement a CI/CD pipeline for an organisation working with git-flow knows what I mean.
No, git-flow is NOT trunk-based. That's it. -

It's unbelievable that I still have to discuss the usefulness of release candidates and the disadvantages of a Maven SNAPSHOT/release procedure these days.
Or that the Maven release plugin is just a piece of crap.
Or that Gitflow is not particularly suitable in a CI/CD and agile context.
I feel trapped in a retro time warp. -

AWS CodeCommit still not able to enforce GPG signed commits?
Maybe someone has an idea. -
Although WeaveWorks didn't do the DevOps community any favors with "GitOps", it's a shame that they have to close up. They built great tools and I hope Flux survives under the CNCF umbrella.

Today, almost a month after a security incident was announced, Okta notified me that my data was also affected.
One month.
It's bad enough that there was such an incident, but then to take a month for this notification doesn't build trust.Farewell, Okta.

My colleagues Jan and Nils are working on the tool helm-compose in their spare time.
helm-compose is a lightweight alternative to Helmfile, which you can find here: https://github.com/seacrew/helm-compose -
I think your effort on GitOps is impressive, but unfortunately that doesn't make GitOps any better. It was, is and remains simply a marketing bubble.
Unfortunately, at last year's #continuouslifecycle conference, you didn't seem to feel like discussing the topic with me in detail at the roundtable.
But what about this years #continuouslifecycle?
Maybe the conference would like to organize a panel discussion on the topic.@map would you be interested?

Actually, I don't want to take up political issues here.
However, today is the 30th anniversary of the Sivas massacre. In this massacre, 35 innocent people, including 9 teenagers, were killed by a radical islamist mob. They had burnt down a hotel where an #Alevi cultural festival was being held.30 years of no justice.
The "Digital Library of the Massacre" has opened its doors, so that what happened will not be forgotten:

My friend and colleague Nils Leger (unfortunately not yet in the Fediverse) has wrote a blogpost about static code analysis of 'Infrastructure as Code':
