As long-time #fedi advocate and #FOSS passionado I've seen countless times #people #come #together on nifty #ActivityPub ideas, only for it to fade out, and be forgotten again, until the next person throws it into ephemeral #microblog timeline voids.

Lots of fancy shortcuts to make your editing faster and more accurate, especially for mapping buildings.

  7. Day 5: Ratticus and I are back home! Beautiful ride today. It started out really cold, but the sun warmed things up fairly quickly. It was also not as windy as yesterday. We climbed out of the Wisconsin River valley and then took the Military Ridge trail back to Madison. Now I'm making myself a big pot of 🍝
    135 km, 1000 m of climbing

  8. Heading home today! A final long day back to Madison.

  9. Day 4 complete, from Lancaster to near Blue River. It was quite a bit colder today and there was plenty of wind. The first 2/3 of the ride also had a lot of hills. But overall an easier day, which is good because the way back home tomorrow will be long again!
    72 km, 800 m of climbing

  10. Packing up for day 4. A short day today, to Blue River. Ratticus is enjoying the time outside the handlebar bag.

  11. I love biking to one of my regular coffee shops for the first time after winter and the barrista still recognizing me and remembering my usual order. Also great to see all the progress on the solar farms around Cambridge! Energy independence, the right way.

  12. @haraldkliems They can keep lowering the East Wash speed limit all they want, but drivers won't slow down unless physical traffic easing measures are put in place. #stroad #strongtowns

  13. The price development on mini PCs is just nuts. This N150 based machine, introduced in 2022, is now more than twice as expensive. I'm really annoyed at myself for not getting one when the prices were still more reasonable.

  14. Has anyone successfully converted their blog/website from Distill to Quarto without re-rendering all the posts and code? I am aware of @djnavarro 's post on the topic from 2022 (blog.djnavarro.net/posts/2022-) but Danielle did convert and re-render her old posts. Distill still works just fine for me, but with it no longer being under active development, I'd like to switch to Quarto.

  15. @haraldkliems I was at #APHA as well. Luckily Atlanta does have some walkable neighborhoods, but the area around the convention center isn't really one of them. It is well connected to the north and east with bike infrastructure. I 100% agree more public health professionals need to be working on the health impacts of our built environment.

  16. A local bike racing team organized a viewing party for at a local coffee shop today. A good opportunity to capture some street-level imagery on the way, including streets and path that just recently have been completed.

  17. I spontaneously decided to sign up for a 100 km permanent ride, "A is for Albion," tomorrow. Last time I did the route I was on my fixie and it was even earlier in the year. So I should be able to improve my time a bit. ridewithgps.com/routes/50896411

And here it is! madisonbikes.org/events/bikewe Over 40 events already, and based on prior years, there will still be a lot more submissions.

  19. Rumor has it that the initial Madison Bike Week schedule is going to be released tomorrow!!

I needed to make a quick delivery and used the opportunity to collect some imageryfor . A new multi-use path is just about to open in downtown

  21. I posted a waffle chart of impervious areas in a while ago. Now it's a proper blog post with all the code to reproduce the chart (and an added table). haraldkliems.netlify.app/posts

  23. Crappy photo, great event: I was one of the presenters at a meeting about bike advocacy on the north side of yesterday. Compared to other parts of the city, the north side's bike infrastructure leaves a lot to be desired, and it was great to see a room full of people interested in changing that! Shout-out to the owner of Cool Bikes North for organizing the event.
