  2. @garrett we've set /mode +q $~a for , which allows anyone to join but must be authed to Freenode to speak. Coupled with a topic message about the situation and link to the Freenode registration FAQ, we seem to be coping. Sad that we have to though...

  3. Round one of building failed due to me not understanding *which* directories get bind-mounted into the build schroots, leading to missing tools at build-time.

Round 2 will begin shortly, with a better chance of success ;)

  4. @gwmngilfen @timapple @mooshoe @nextcloud plug for , the command line tool I wrote that generates secure, easy-to-type passhrases. I wrote it for those times when you can't copy/paste from your password manager—with pen and paper, that's *every* time. So passgen seems like an especially good fit for your use case.

  5. Ugh, not a fun evening, but necessary. Since is deprecating Hassbian, I spent the evening migrating my RasPi3 Hassbian setup to a shiny new RasPi4 instance...

I do like HassIO though. And it was an opportunity to clean up my configs before the panel installation starts. Which should be *real soon*, exciting :)

  15. It's taken 10 months, but I now have a more vibrant and interesting network of people than I ever had on Twitter. I'm regularly getting to see things I would not have seen over there.

Which is just confirmation that building a social group *anywhere* (online or offline) takes effort, patience, and often humility. We can't just move from one place to another and expect to keep what we had (again, applies online and offline).

For me, it's been worth the price.

  16. @fitheach so it was predictably excellent, great music, good crowd, heartfelt commentary from Bruce et al. Had a great time :)
