@fredonline And the funny part, the IP for #codeberg pages seems to have been changed as well! That was the reason, that both my static sites were down. Fixed them in the DNS records to get them back up and running. I guess I missed their announcement for the change in IP. #codebergpages

@fredonline I’ve been looking out for an alternative too after this prolonged outage of Codeberg Pages for my static site deployment. #codeberg #codebergpages

@AAMfP @fredonline I went in for #filen since #koofr has worse speed performances. Plus, Filen claims to be E2EE encrypted. However, if you need a webdav implementation (i.e. required by some android apps like Joplin, etc) Koofr (or nexctloud) is the way to go. I am still waiting for a proper and safe #webdav implementation with folder based and read/write passwords.

Today I've been reading about holiday makers in Tenerife wanting to get 'selfies' with MV Hondius! 🙄

Eccles church could be demolished for affordable housing block:
So, a conservative estimate of at least another 50 or so cars wanting somewhere to park, and they say 18 parking spaces are planned.
That area is already suffering a severe lack of parking spaces! 🙄

I've had a re-think and I'm currently testing an account with Mailo.
I created a new calendar and imported my Google Calendar - then I did a search for the series of events that Zoho couldn't find and . . .
Success! Mailo listed all those older events!
Another bonus is, it was so easy to add both the emails and calendars to my desktop and phone.
Mailo looks promising so far!

It's back to Google Calendar! 🙄
A few months ago, I exported all my calendars/events from Google Calendar to Zoho Calendar.
Today, wanting to search for a series of older events from previous years - Zoho reported no results! 🤔
Upon checking in my still existing Google Calendar, all those events were there since 2019. 👍
I'll have to have a re-think on this one! 🤔

This gave me one huge smile! Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, at this moment in time it's never been so apt!

I've been experimenting with EU-based DNS and domain registrars, with some spare domains:
ClouDNS - for DNS only, a quick learning curve of their UI required. Free for 1 domain.
Gcore - for DNS only, that was really easy to set up! Multiple domains allowed, it's free providing you don't exceed monthly 'requests'.
INWX - for domain registrar and DNS, had a few head-scratching moments, but with a bit of help from their support, it was soon up and running.
Looking good so far!

I had the pleasure of attending the Bachman-Turner Overdrive concert at the Manchester UK Free Trade Hall in 1975 (OMG, was that really 50 years ago?) and was so pleased to find this more recent concert on YouTube:

The one-way charge for crossing Warburton Toll Bridge will increase from 12p to £1 from next week:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cpv1lkrpxdyo

I very rarely use this bridge, but whenever I have, I've always been anxious about the safety of the bridge over the canal - it's a long way down! 😨 Still, putting up that charge is a good enough reason to avoid it if one can. I hope that they put up large signs at the approaches to the bridge to warn the unwary.

Out-of-office messages blaming Democrats for shutdown sent on behalf of some federal workers without their consent:
https://www.cnn.com/2025/10/02/politics/federal-workers-government-shutdown-emails-partisan
Firstly, let me say that I NEVER discuss politics on any online forum, and I won't be starting now!
I seem to recall that, when I was furloughed during COVID, my then employer added their own out-of-office (OOO) message, which I considered entirely reasonable.
For all emails sent out, there was always a company 'signature' added which was basically an advert for the company anyway.
If you're out of office (vacation, etc) would it be an idea to take responsibility away from the employee - instead have the company do the out-of-office message?
