  1. 12 years ago, in 2014, I co-organized #EuroPython in Berlin. Afterwards, I took some of the 3D cube visuals used for decoration around the venue home. They've been on walls in the hallway for several years. Today, at least the green one, took its last journey and is now covering the roller shutter casing.

  6. Signups and topic submissions are now open for the Language Summit at EuroPython in Kraków!

The Python Language Summit is an event for the developers of Python implementations (CPython, PyPy, MicroPython, GraalPython, IronPython, and so on) to share information, discuss our shared problems, and — hopefully — solve them.

  7. During the conference in July we've learned this was Lara's first EuroPython. It was lovely to hear an opinion of a new attendee, thanks so much from all of us, Lara! 🥰 EuroPython is a great event thanks to all the volunteers, but also each and every attendee who makes it so lovely.

What did you all think about our badge stickers in 2025?

  12. I’ve never tried a model like this before.
But watching the Python community applaud without support frustrates me. Recognition doesn’t pay for servers, events, or time.

“Donations” make people hesitate. Stories don’t. PyBabies turns stories into something you can hold. Figures, zines, collector cards, sticker packs.

Series 000 celebrates 15 years of PyLadies.

Soft sales at #PyConUS and #EuroPython.
25% goes back to PyLadies. You get the work. They get support. And I don’t work for free.

  13. Everyone has their favorite thing about EuroPython. This one is hard to argue with, though the conference is a yearly gathering of so many creators and open-source maintainers whom we know and admire. It gives everyone a chance to grab someone, perhaps after their talk, and ~ask about an issue status~ show our appreciation for their contribution to the ecosystem 😅

Did you get to meet a maintainer you know at EuroPython?

  23. We are excited to share that Pablo Galindo Salgado will be returning to #europython as one of our keynote speakers!

Pablo works in the Python team at Hudson River Trading. He is a CPython core developer and a theoretical physicist specialising in general relativity and black hole physics. Pablo serves on the Python Steering Council, having been re-elected for his 6th term in 2026, and was the release manager for Python 3.10 and 3.11. He also has a cat, though it does not code.

  28. Networking, meeting old and making new friends, frequently comes up as one of the best perks of attending a conference like . It's a great chance for open-source maintainers to meet regularly face-to-face (or should we say, keyboard-to-keyboard?) and hack on the project together. We even provide open space for just that purpose during our conference sprints!

Do you have any tips on how we could facilitate open-source collaboration even more during the conference?
