Another downside to colonizer social media is its quickness to spread misinformation and disinformation far and wide.
Whitemanz CEO companies do not "like" anything that makes them or their favorite executives look bad. Egoes get _really wrapped up in who has the fanciest real estate and the best stocky-wocky prices.
When failing in efforts to contain news that will be detrimental to their image or stocky-wocky prices, often do they resort to disinformation and misinformation campaigns (diversionary tactics).
While it was quite obvious Twitter enabled Drumpf with the means and opportunity to create such misinformation and disinformation campaigns, it is perhaps less obvious how the other colonizer social media keeps getting away with murder.
Woke up at 2AM today, did a random check of news, and found an interesting story that explains partly "how"... and it was not yet saved to the accounting archive.
Author and journalist Cecelia Kang was VERY CAREFUL to not step on the toes of Whitemanz CEOs as she spoke to NPR[1].
Facebook made concerted efforts to suppress and hide the author's story about its platform on the platform not entirely under its control.
Whitemanz goal is to make innocent people forget how much LIES to the public his platform is responsible for perpetuating. Colonist founders hate being identified as the actual fascists, hypocrites and genocidal tyrants they are.
Does not take a genius to find similarities among the "early" investors of FB; Zuckerberg and Sandberg have a shared delusion that includes the myth that Turtle Island is .... somehow their Jewish birthright? To buy and swap and sell racially-platted parcels[3]? To fly over, to drill and mine and make drama... to chain with hideous undersea cables[4]?

A: "I look at the age of the founder and _never_ trust any company founded by someone younger than me. I especially distrust companies founded by white men younger than me (colonized settlers and their allies should always be distrusted by native people).

Is a different computer from your main desktop / workstation... sends pings to cellphone towers, bypassing security at the local level, where they may be configured differently. The 2020 fire season here was ABNORMAL. We did not have an especially dry summer. Areas where most of the Beachie Creek and Lionshead fires were is basically a RAINFOREST with a microclimate. Yet we had extraordinarily large fires, and many of them in a line suspiciously directly to something the Fascistbook wants: a central Oregon location, for all of its young and way-too-inflated megalomaniacs. It is the beginning of the month! Are you a PoC too far behind on your rent to the slavemaster, and getting evicted illegally?
Maybe watch this[1] #Free full-length documentary on how the settlers who colonized the North American continent segregated and impoverished through something called a ¨racial covenant¨ written right onto the deeds. Then start cussing out your landlords because their ancestors manufactured urban poverty.
Doc has a great intro to the parent idea of racial covenants, which are called ¨restrictive covenants¨ and involve ¨redlining¨ as ways the early whites settled towns, dividing the PoCs to live in the ¨undesirable¨ neighborhoods and all the white settlers to the favorable ones.
Images on this post EXPLICITLY state the wishes of the white settlers to push the colored folks into the littlest boxes in the sickest parts of the towns.

Back online last night, after the two day outage.
Would have been back online much sooner, but indie´s local ISP crashed in the middle of her updating the CSR and SSL cert reqs on the remote webserver (our webserver we pay for, which had recently fallen victim to another OOM crash, due to Linode expecting her, their paying customer, to optimize VMs around dockerized processes she is not using on this thing she is already overpaying for).
Yes . . . all of this in the infradrama attacking the little webmin maintaining ecosteader. Is perhaps some kind of strange reverse ¨Moore´s Law¨ on why this would happen?
Nobody can be expert in all things, and especially in techlandia -- if you do not exercise the muscles frequently enough, is easy to forget. The hops are supposed to be short and simple. Every single piece of art we share on facebook diminishes us and makes the enemy (Republican patriarchal society) more powerful. Facebook needs Republican patriarchal society to continue the delusion that settler colonialism is okay. Its entire business model is to actively censor and mute and bury our news and stories as it tries desperately to keep floating the dominant narrative of white supremacy. It wants everybody talking about the two-party political system, because thus far, white supremacy has been its biggest sugar daddy. It knows it can't make money off displaced indigenous peoples exposing the corruption and lies in the system, so it silences us in sort of an echo chamber, where no news that matters can make it mainstream.
The National Association of Realtors is the number one partner of the Republican patriarchal society: landlording, fascist police evicting people, and unchecked corruption are all hallmarks of the fascists who have never stopped murdering the native inhabitants of Turtle Island. Everything becomes whitewashed underneath the false pretenses of American democracy.
Native democracy was different. Indigenous people, and those who support indigenous movements to take back the land need to operate outside of enemy territory if we are to preserve our unique ability to thrive in any condition. This is why I built and maintain Ecosteader.
Have I been largely unsuccessful in convincing people to leave enemy territory, or are they simply not able to understand that they can and should leave it? I'm really worried that the insidiousness of facebook's "business model" is making strong people weak. So many people stuck in that death trap.
People don't need facebook's network; it should not "own" any part of a person's or a group's or an organization's amplification. The more people who leave loudly and with all the logic of pure truth that we who are truly decolonizing can obtain, the weaker our enemy will become.

Starting a thread on #CommunityWealth. This is one area that Ecosteader's mission as a B Corp can begin to be elucidated. It's more than my "hope"; it is my firm belief that #EcologicalDemocracy is the only way to build a sustainable wealth cycle for a community: one that endures.

I'm leading Healthy Forest Revival, a Wellbriety-focused project for Spring 2026 in Forest Grove, OR and would love any locals from #Portland metro, #Hillsboro, #Beaverton, etc to join me. I want to build in my yard, infrastructure that can foster Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and help our community with the pending crisis in our food system. I want to foster TEK without corporate social media.

This was unpaid work, the woman whose field I helped tend: Marlene Frank, passed away a couple of years ago. The two years of work meant I experienced a significant decline in life savings and subsequently, when Meta's college dropout CEO stalked me both onto Mastodon AND HE STALKED ME PERSONALLY IRL AT MY HOME, I decided to step away from the tech side of Ecosteader, and to instead focus on my well-being.
Now as I approach the 10th year of recovery-related growth in the region I live in the #PNW, I am restless to do more. Several weeks ago I submitted an application to Adelante Mujeres which is our local Wednesday afternoon and evening Farmer's Market. I don't wanna do this by myself!
At the farmer market, we can grow food, do consignment art, and (yes) finally make money to pay off the mortgage. The deed for the property free of bank encumbrances will be carefully prayed upon, but we're not there yet. It is MUCH EASIER to give #LandBack when there is no house or other permanent dwelling on the land... but it's not impossible!
So that is my open invitation. I gotta get moving on turning vision for Ecosteader & Company HQ IRL into reality. But I do not want it to be **mine** alone. One of the things I miss most about my Intel job was working with people, but I do not like to ask for the help of experts without being able to compensate them.
I am, unapologetically, about as opposite of that selfish narcissist running Meta platforms as you can get, I WANT to give equitable options to people that I work with.
We can do a YouTube channel if that is something people want to use to showcase knowledge, but be aware that I will not be talking to any cameras.
Let's build out an amazing #hydroponics system this season. Let's get some of the amazing native plants new homes.

Because: at the time of the conference, I did have an MBA and experience w/printed circuit boards enabling cellphone towers.
Three days after event was over, my mother died; and in subsequent years battling sadness, unemployment
did I muse that I'd have done a better job than Marissa w/Yang & Filo's Asia_lang.mqe friends.Not supposed to "regret the past", we do learn from it.
