Bernard Haitink you have listed already. I'd add two more names for the core triangle that spans the Bruckner universe: Günter Wand and Sergiu Celibidache.

Late Celibidache performances are perhaps the most unorthodox interpretations in this set. I was fortunate to hear him conduct Bruckner's 5th live in Berlin in the early 1990s.

As a bonus: vintage recordings by Wilhelm Furtwängler, unique like everything he did.

This afternoon I'll be heading back into my #workshop to attempt my first #woodworking project since my #backsurgery six months ago.

I've had a big chunk of butcher block worktop sitting around for over two years, so thought I'd turn it into fancy chopping boards for various family members.

I managed to break my #tablesaw a while back, and although it was probably something I could fix, I didn't feel like it was safe anymore. So, on a little bit of an impulse purchase, I bought myself a new #EvolutionPowerTools R255TBL+ (with a nice discount code from #CasualDIY on #YouTube). It's a bit of a step up from my old saw, which I'd retrofitted with quite a few features that come as standard on the new one, and has a lot of extras that the old one didn't.

Got some new #soundcore #earbuds today, so now I've got something to use when I'm not at home instead of lugging my over-ear headphones around. Part of the set-up involves a #HearingTest to create a profile specific to your own (loss of) hearing. Turns out that my left ear can't hear the high frequencies any more, but my right ear can. More #GettingOld, I suppose 🙈

I've had my new #glasses for less than three hours, and just noticed that they've got a broken frame 😩 The right lens isn't in the frame properly either, so no wonder they felt "off" for closeup stuff. Back to #specsavers tomorrow morning, I guess 😐

Convinced my wife to go with me to a bit of culture... I'm quite excited, even if she is a bit more apprehensive. Also discovered that disabled folk can get (very heavily) discounted tickets. £5 instead of £50 was the convincing argument to get her to agree 😎 #classical #beethoven #cbso

So Boris Johnson's defence is that he can't possibly have been breaking the rules because there are official photos showing the events that broke the rules and he would have been stupid to have allowed official photos to have been taken at a rule breaking event. So the existence of photos showing the rule breaking are proof that the rules were not broken.

Planned thinning by @CoedCadw taking place at Coed Y Gopa, #Abergele, over the next few weeks/months. Long-awaited and much needed in several parts of the woodland. The contractors currently on site will mostly only be felling the trees marked yellow. Other contractor apparently responsible for felling trees marked orange.
