I seem to have bad luck with computer mice. Whether they're cheap or expensive, wired or wireless, simple or with many buttons, Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz, from well-known brands or from some random Chinese vendor, they always start malfunctioning after 2 years or less.
No, I don't treat them roughly, I don't throw them (or play football with them). They just start dying after that time. Weird.

Aparentemente se les fue la olla a los de #Fedora con la actualización a #Fedora43 si se tiene instalado #PostgreSQL.
#Fedora42 trae #PostgreSQL_16, mientras que la v43 trae #PostgreSQL_18. Entonces, al actualizar el SO, todo peta, porque no puedes usar `postgresql-setup --upgrade`, ya que tu cluster es v16 y el upgrade sólo sirve de v17 a v18.

So, after the #Fedora43 upgrade, every time I woke my laptop from suspend, the UI font size and scaling were resetting to some values, different from my preferred ones. I was ready to file a bug when I remembered something.
Turns out I had configured a script some time ago to do just that (change font and scaling) and forgot about it because in #Fedora42 it wasn't activating automatically. Now, in 43, it does, and I spent 30 minutes freaking out about it.
Tip: Always check your configs first.

Well, the upgrade to #Fedora43 was almost uneventful. There was a minor issue with #wine, but everything went well after I uninstalled and reinstalled it.
Some font options were reset to the default, so everything looked "too big" after rebooting. I also had to reinstall all my #pipx packages. But that's it.
I could have waited a couple of weeks to upgrade, but I thought, "Meh, whatever, it's not #Windows." and went ahead :akkosmile2:

There are still some #Reddit communities that I check often, because they are more active than their #Fediverse counterparts or because there no are equivalents here.
I used to do this using #RSS and #LibRedirect but it seems that I can't do that anymore. Since some days ago, whenever I try to add a Reddit RSS URL to my #FreshRSS, it returns me an unspecified error or a 403.
So thanks again Reddit. And go f*ck yourself, please.

Así que #Whastapp va a comenzar a poner anuncios... Si no fuera porque donde vivo es la aplicación de facto para casi todo, la quitaba ahorita mismo.
Y llevo haciendo proselitismo desde hace años con mis pocos contactos para que usen #Signal y no hay manera, mi Signal sigue igual de vacío que cuando me suscribí por vez primera.
O igual todos me odian y por eso nadie me hace caso :akkoshrug:

Una de las cosas que más se me olvidan es conectarme a mi #HomeServer (una netbook del año de la pera) y actualizarlo regularmente. Hoy me acordé, después de ~2 meses de no hacerlo.
Su #Debian12 sólo tenía 5 actualizaciones, que aplicó sin inmutarse 👌 . Y siguió currando como si nada :aw_yeah:

Latest thing that has kept me entertained: setting up a #Windows11 #IoT #LTSC on a #VM on #Fedora, using #KVM and #virt_manager . It feels a little faster than my #Tiny10 install, and best of all: none of the bloat! :aw_yeah:
Now I need to learn how to configure the GPU passthrough using my laptop's dGPU (#Nvidia, sadly). Any recommendations for a guide or tutorial, people of #Mastodon?
(Yes, I know how to do a #SearXNG, but maybe someone have already a good tutorial.)

I was using #OfficeLens for #scanning documents with my #Android phone and saving them to PDF, because it gave me the best results and existing #FOSS apps were full of bugs.
Apparently, this functionality is now locked behind the "Microsoft connected experiences" and you cannot longer save anything to PDF without agreeing to upload your content to #Microsoft servers and letting them to analyze it.
Obviously, I'm uninstalling this app right now. It has become useless to me.

- Google Contacts -> #Fossify ContactsI've deleted #GooglePhotos too, since I'm going to use #Filen_io and #Megasync for that purpose.
