  1. Went for my first run since turning 50 the other day, was a bit worried as its been so icy this week but it was cold, dry and gorgeous out there. Looking forward to a great year of running (and my first half) in 2025. #UKRunning #running

  7. #GreatSouthRun has been cancelled because of the atrocious weather due tomorrow, but it’s due to clear up, or at least stop raining quite as much, by late afternoon.

Trying to work out if I’ve got it in me to do the distance on my own tomorrow. It’s further then I’ve gone before and would be a lonely 16k.

  11. 2 days to go to the #greatsouthrun, looking forward to it, just about there with training, hit 14k a couple of weekends ago and still had some energy for more. Not looking forward to all the rain 🌧️ #running

  15. I’ve had a target for the last year or so to get my miles up to 15k but I’ve been stuck at 10k, so I’ve just signed up for the Great South Run in October to force myself to push past 15. #running #greatsouthrun

  20. Today was the first anniversary of running my first 10k, I’d been running for about 8 months, my brother came to stay and was determined to get me from my current 8k up to 10, and we did it. I did quite a few 10’s with running partners after that but it wasn’t until the day of the London marathon last October that I plucked up the nerve to go and run it on my own. I only ran 6k today, but I’m enjoying reflecting on what I’ve achieved since I started running. #RunningGoals

  21. Just had my family weekend get together for my dad’s 80th birthday cancelled when one of my kids tested positive for Covid. I’m totally devastated, my siblings are spread far and wide and it’s very rare for us to all get together with my parents.

Ran out my frustration and disappointment for 7km and was slightly cheered up by all the snowdrops that are out.

  23. My commute listen for the past week has been The Electricity of Every Living Thing by Katherine May and don’t want it to end. She has such a beautiful way with language and is so insightful and honest about her experience understanding as an adult that she is autistic. The author narrates the book and I could listen to her read all day. #audiobook #KatherineMay

  24. Well tonight I met the target I’d set myself to run 780km this year (780 because it equates to doing 5k 3x a week all year.) So my running buddy and I celebrated with chips. #runchat #ukrunchat #c25kgraduate
