Android's strength was its decentralized nature. Google's plan to mandate central registration for every single app developer destroys that. We must resist this centralization of power. @keepandroidopen #KeepAndroidOpen https://keepandroidopen.org

The second was a pudgy, somewhat less than pigeon-sized brown and brown-gray bird that flew like nothing else I'd ever seen in the air. When it landed briefly I caught sight of its shape and made a tentative ID, but it took off before I could get a photo. #americanwoodcock , the #peent bird.

I mean, half-asleep brain was QUITE SURE that the spot had been moving around, but half-asleep brain was, as I have said before, previously convinced that mice were in my bedroom curtains and could not get past a knot.
Took forever to get my pulse back down to normal, and longer to get back to sleep.
No idea if this is related to #explodingheadsyndrome but eesh it wouldn't surprise me.

Fun With #parasomnia :
When I lived in New Jersey I would occasionally have this weird sleep issue involving the curtains. Basically I'd be partway to sleep, or I'd have been asleep for a little while and wake up, and either way I'd be viscerally freaked out- racing pulse, fast breathing, you name it- because my brain was absolutely convinced that there was a mouse running up my bedroom curtains.

Best sound generator I've found yet for masking my tinnitus at work:

Also, the guy whose work the above MyNoise generator is based on, and the specific album that Ive found works best so far:

Emptied two boxes of envelopes. Ran out of flag stamps, fruit stamps, and manatee stamps. Had to resort to T-Rex stamps and Raven Story black and gold stamps. Missed the postal carrier with my most recent batch, will hit mailbox later. Envelope glue tastes nasty. #Vote #voteforward #votefwd #vote2024 #uspol

Going to the post office later today to drop off the 26 I've downloaded, written, addressed, and stamped since yesterday. #voteforward #votefwd #USpol #vote2024 #VoteBlue

Yesterday's batch of #voteforward letters is done. Gotta put the last six in the mailbox. I've downloaded another 20. I gotta go make tea.

Dowmloaded a batch of 20 #voteforward letters this morning. 14 have been written out and mailed. 5 are prepped and stamped. The last will be written tomorrow morning. Probably going to do another 20.
Getting tired of flag stamps. Ran out of fruit stamps. Still got manatees. Debating using my last four Tyrannosaurus stamps but I dunno who'd open a handwritten letter from a stranger with a predatory dinosaur stamp.

If you've ever wondered how many #voteforward letters can be written, addressed, and stamped leaning on a hardcover cookbook while a sixteen year old cat dozes on your lap before the cat decides she wants a change of venue...
Seven. The answer is seven.

I've used up my first full book of stamps for #voteforward ! #USpol #vote2024

*eyes stack of #VoteForward letters*
'Are you ready to vote? I vote because'...
Spite? Am I allowed to say I'm voting out of pure unadulterated *spite* towards everyone and everything who has ever tried for any reason to make it harder for people in general (and in my case, women in particular) to vote? Because it really wouldn't be inaccurate...
*sighs, goes back to writing about relatives who fought Nazis for future generations' freedom instead*

Got a batch of letters going out to Ohio tonight for #voteforward . Is it sad that this is the most handwriting I've done at one time in years?

Time is running out to save an innocent father. Texas has set #InnocenceProject client Robert Roberson’s execution for Oct. 17, for a crime that never even occurred.
In September, we learned that the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals denied Robert’s appeal and motion to stay his Oct. 17 execution. This decision was made despite the new medical and scientific evidence that proves Robert’s daughter, Nikki, died of natural causes, not from any inflicted injury, let alone a homicide.

In the vein of the post I just boosted, may I just say how grateful I am for Dr. Stephane Pigeon and his incredible #MyNoise website? I've had #Tinnitus since 2021. My audiologist told me at my diagnosis that there was no treatment, only two options: #CBT or antipsychotic medication 'to deal with the sleep deprivation'.
Dr. Pigeon's site offers dozens of incredibly customizable streaming sound options for masking #Tinnitus or blocking out other noises. Synthetic, recorded in nature, musical...
