  7. I just threw together a script for easily attaching a debugger to any of your #overmind run processes. let me know if it's useful!

I'm using it for attaching to my #rails processes, as I don't like how overmind connect web echoes everything the web process outputs.

  14. My post #EMFCamp lie-in was spent hacking on #LastCallBBS (which I bought after enjoying it in EMF's excellent Arcade) and creating a new Bulletin Board to dial into…

  15. I built a prototype for client-side, fully distributed search for the #IndieWeb, predictably called #IndieSearch — check out the short demo & explainer. Your site may even support it already (if you use the awesome #Pagefind static site search!)

I'd love to hear what you think!

  19. as if they heard me : ) "Understanding and combatting #misinformation across 16 countries on six continents" out today in Nature Human Behavior! There have been a huge number of msinfo-related studies in the past 5 or so years, but almost all of them have been US/Western populations. So here we examined the #psychology of #misinformation, and the effectiveness of various #interventions, across 16 countries (total N=34k)" by @Drand nature.com/articles/s41562-023

  21. Hello #london / #islington friends! Would anyone like 4 tickets to the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival today? I can’t go and they’ll go to waste otherwise! (It’s in #Angel, at the business design centre)

It’s just begun, and is open until 6pm (last entry and 4:30pm)

Message me if you’d like them or can find a good home for them! (Boosts welcome!)

  22. Finally, there’s also distributed tech for authorisation called #ucan which could plug the gap of addresses on IPFS (“CIDs”) being hard for humans to remember.

With #ucan, your DNS provider could delegate auth’z to update the DNS pointer from your old “latest site” to your new one.

I’ve covered a lot, briefly, badly—please ask questions if any of this is interesting! I love the potential of #IndieWeb and the distributed web, but I agree with you that it’s only accessible to tech folk today!

  23. Are there any conventions for #communicating rough periods of #time with images/without using numbers?

Months~years is often “sheets falling off a calendar”, and hours “hands of a clock sped up” but they both need motion (or are harder to interpret/can mean something else)

    What am I missing?

  24. I’d love to try and #ReverseEngineer the Yoto Mini (uk.yotoplay.com/yoto-mini) — if anyone has/has access to a broken one, I’d love to buy it off you ☺️

  25. I am, for geeky reasons, mostly on Bluesky these days. Send me a DM if you’d like an invite.

(Geeky reasons: It uses #IPLD, and I *think* I can build a fully static #ATProto server on #IPFS, so my static blog can use ATProto for comments only in HTML and CSS (no JS!))

  26. I’m thinking of selling my barely used #TuringPi 2, complete with any combination of the compute modules I have for it: 2x Turing #RK1s (8GB), an #Nvidia #Jetson Nano, and 2x #RPi #CM4s.

It’s a fantastic system (especially with #Talos Linux for an immutable K8s base OS), but I’m experimenting less with clusters than I planned.

Anyone want to make an offer? If you’re in #London (UK) I’ll hand deliver!

  28. Are there any #isomorphic 2 player tabletop/simple #games?

ie. You’re playing Game A and I’m playing Game B, but some method of noting down our choices means we’re playing valid moves against each other?

(I’m sure some #maths / #math folks might find this q question interesting!)
