  1. @benjaminhollon @freedomtowrite I’ve been trying out .css for my web site and for my blog. Would be great if they had the same look and feel. The problem I have with Hugo is there is no archive feature out of the box and I don’t have the coding skills to write it myself. Unfortunately my site is not published on the web yet so I can’t share.

  2. @benjaminhollon @twizzay

I'm offended by the fact that you went from basic straight to Visual Basic.

THat'd be a little bit like if I mentioned JS, and you said, "No, I don't want to run Chrome." :P

At least mention Microsoft Basic, which, while terrible, had a lot of good features and ran on a TON of platforms.

There's even a graphical FOSS basic for Linux, #Gambas.

    lol, that's adorable.

Makes me remember the time I taught my grandmother (who's 103 this year) how to use my classic Mac in the late 90s.
She wrote up this super sweet thank-you note for me in II. I still have a photo of it somewhere.

Makes me wish would do a RISC-V microcontroller. That would be super nifty. :)

  9. @benjaminhollon It was spam that had gotten through. Sent from (with DKIM passing so it's really from their systems), pretending to be Hetzner.

When I thought about it for a minute, it made no sense as I don't even pay for DNS on Hetzner, and I am my own registrar for that specific domain.

I made the good choice of ignoring the email until I had woken up fully, and didn't start "fixing" the situation directly on my phone in bed. Cooler heads prevail!

  10. @benjaminhollon would love to be in Indonesia this week to watch the :blobcatgamer:

P.S. Huh! It's actually pretty viewable in #Fedilab if you turn your phone sideways. Of course, all of those unicode characters are the same width. Didn't consider that.

P.P.S. I actually remember making "Graphics" like that with #GWBASIC on #DOS in the early #90s (although not as good, for sure)

  16. @[email protected] Yes you can. Although I'm not very sure this is possible in NixOS. You can use a hosts-file level ad-blocker such as #TBlock

  17. @benjaminhollon That plan was originally 100GB (like 1y ago) when I started to use .

Then one day an email flies into my inbox, that says that they've increased that plan to 250GB. I don't have to do anything, my plan is just bigger now. No additional costs.

    ... wow!

  18. @benjaminhollon

    Ack!

I b0rked my by not installing the bootloader correctly, so now it only boots up at all if I disable the internal storage, and my hard crashed and now won't boot again.

This PC laptop has been such a pain. I'm hoping an fsck will fix it, because I have no idea how to troubleshoot systemd-boot (as if I knew how to troubleshoot grub, lol)

    I (almost?!) miss LiLo.

  19. @benjaminhollon @joel I’m checking it out on my workstation and I can tell you it’s very different from the superior Solarized Light :rms:

All jokes though, it’s a very nice theme. I’m liking the iTerm theme that they have listed on their GitHub page. The VSCode theme though I’m not a bit fan of. For JS, having the async and function keywords be orange/red respectively is annoying. Their contrasts and hues are too similar.

No hate though, us users need to stick together! :smart:

  20. @benjaminhollon

Ok, I'll have to try it on another machine later. It just bogs down on my .

  21. @benjaminhollon For remote backup storage it may be worth checking out , , or for pretty cost effective solutions.

For a bit more can enter the mix as well.

Then I'll surely but from . I've also read and saw nice reviews.
I'm even a bit thrilled by their Split-64...
