  1. Today, my load from the house wasn't high, most of the day (under 1kWh). But the inverter transfer from the wind seemed to be stuck on draining down the power in the lead acid batteries. Couldn't seem to reset the inverter, so thought let's load the house up to make the SigenStor discharge and that seems to have done the trick. So now the lead acid batteries are recharging off the wind and no transfer occuring. Happy days.

  2. I had a massive panic over the last 24 hours. My power setup is a main SigenStor 45kWh that has a large solar array, but also a filter feed from a wind turbine and lead acid battery setup with separate inverter.
Yesterday was windy and sunny. I charged my car from 55 to 94% however after this and after my two immersion diverts had heated the water store the lead acid batteries smelt and sounded like were boiling. Anyway wind dropped things seemed alright as levels all okay, but then today ...

  3. Really disappointed by this result, really would love to lower dependence on US stuff.

  6. The wind is really picking up in Angus glens. Predicted to gust 50+mph tonight and tomorrow morning. Already too noisy out there to fall asleep without music on to distract.

  7. Exciting times, my Kidney vetch seeds have started to germinate. The first of the wildflower seeds to poke their delicate shoots up

  11. Energy Stats for the month of April 2026 and NO DIESEL was used, in fact I didn't notice that the battery for the generator has failed. Also end of April, beginning of May has been the calmest fortnight since I have lived here, so glad invested in getting the Solar as otherwise diesel would have been on everyday

    Solar Production = 396.42 kWh
    Wind production = 425.10 kWh
    Diesel = 0.0
    Total generated = 821.52 kWh

EV charging used = 199.1 kWh

  13. I am absolutely devastated 😭 this was a regular night out for our community. Coming out as trans and having a safe space to express that, was a life line for so many. Hatred of others makes all society unsafe.
Also this nightclub had the best security, including cameras and some of the neatest server wiring I have ever seen, as on display through glass. As many in tech are trans so we appreciate this and also don't have to deal with people.

  14. UK solar generation hits record 15 GW as gas falls to historic low
Solar set a new generation record on Great Britain’s electricity grid during a week that also saw zero-carbon supply reach an all-time high. The new records come as the grid operator expands demand-side flexibility markets in anticipation of lower summer demand driven by strong solar irradiance.

  20. Whoop, the first row of the 20m front hedge is complete 🎉 Also the second row is at 13m, so another 7m to go, but need to celebrate the first row completion 🎉
So far I have planted 185 Hawthorn, 30 Field Maple, 20 Wild Cherry, 10 Spindle, 20 Crab Apple, 3 Beech, 1 Blackthorn, 1 Dog Rose and 1 English Oak.
Still have a load of trees left to finish off the 7m and fill in the odd initial gaps/damaged trees.

"Among the discoveries is Paalua leleole, a species in which the female moths appear unable to fly. Several of the new moths were named to honor Hawai’ian culture, including Iliahia lilinoe, named for Lilinoe, the goddess of mists on the Haleakalā volcano, on the island of Maui."

  26. So the front hedge has got to 14.5m front row and 12m inside row. The front row is mainly hawthorn. I just finished the first batch of trees I ordered, this means the if I got what ordered the hedge contains so far ... 120 hawthorn, 30 field maple, 20 wild cherry, 10 spindle, 20 crab apple and 1 beech. Just got back in before the first rain of the predicted storm arrived.
