  1. Did a side by side, the wet processed has those delicate floral notes that geshas are known for, I feel like I'll enjoy it more once my nose isn't stuffy. The dry processed definitely has more body, I might even say better balance, definitely fruity, but fwiw I don't detect fruit loops like they mention on the tasting notes :blobfoxcrylaugh:

Both very enjoyable, I think I like the dry processed better overall! I don't get gesha coffee very often, it's more expensive without being objectively better, just different in a kinda fun way, so it's fun to remind myself every now and then what it's about. Tasting the difference with processing methods is also *super cool*.

  4. Roasting coffee again, this one I'm really excited about: this is a gesha variety from the same crop in Peru, one batch dry (also called natural) processed and the other wet (washed) processed. I tried roasting them about the same (as close to City as I can with my clunky drum roaster), so the main difference will be in how they were processed.

See alt text for my initial take on how well I roasted the two batches. They need to rest and degas before I can brew them and do a side by side tasting.

  7. Bottling homemade #nonalcoholic #GingerBeer from a keg, the left overs from a beer festival I poured at. It's not glamorous, a bit of a behind the scenes look.

  11. I got my first #tattoo! An #ouroboros #snake around my right arm. Broadly speaking everything sucks right now, but I've been looking forward to this for a while and it has given me a big mood boost to have it done.

I made a little website to share what it means to me: tattoo.mcwizard.club/

  12. I have a sit/stand desk but it's hand cranked, so I'll admit I rarely raise it, but today I had to because there's a new #Kendrick album and no way I'm sitting while listening to this

  13. My father-in-law got 3 half bushels of apples from Michigan and we juiced them yesterday, produced just under 4 gallons! I'm being safe with this batch, put some campden tabs in it to reduce wild yeast and other nasties, gonna pitch healthy yeast tomorrow. I think I'll do a dry cider; I recently opened one of my dry ciders that has aged for a year and it was gooood

  14. Basil Smash with lime, two different gins

I think with Hendricks (green) it's better tasting, complements the basil better, but the Empress Elderflower Rose (pink) is just so pretty :BlobhajTinyHeart:

  16. Couldn't wait for the freshly roasted coffee to rest, started making some cold brew and infusing rum :blobcat: The foil is because it needs to release some gas 💨

  17. Juiced ginger today, got 9.5 cups (2.25 liters)! Made a gallon of ginger beer concentrate, then ran out of citrus, so I still have almost a liter of raw ginger juice. :catjam:
