29 minutes ago · Jan 9 at 12:21 PMSeveral helicopters continue to work in multiple areas around the Topanga Canyon Rd (Fernwood & Wildwood) areas. Tanker operations, including tankers and super scoopers are now working on the Eastern side of the fire in the Mandeville Canyon area.
Additionally radio traffic indicates some helicopters are being diverted to the Eaton Fire (due to critical infrastructure protection needs) but 4 additional type 1 helicopters have been requested to replace them.

The deans will communicate more specific guidance related to academic programming. The University will modify campus operations accordingly. Students with classes scheduled for Calabasas, West Los Angeles, or Irvine campuses and employees supporting these campuses will receive further guidance from their deans and/or supervisors.
Per UCLA - UCLA will curtail campus operations, cancel undergraduate classes and move graduate courses to remote instruction for the next two days, Thursday, Jan. 9 and Friday, Jan. 10. Our PreK-12 programs — Geffen Academy, UCLA Lab School and our Early Care and Education Programs — will be closed on both Thursday and Friday. UCLA Extension will move to remote instruction on these days.

Officials raced to prepare for possible debris flows in areas burned during the January fires
as a strong storm moved into Southern California on Wednesday,
prompting evacuation warnings in burn zones across L.A. County.
These evacuation warnings will be in effect from 7 a.m. Thursday to 2 p.m. Friday
— when the heaviest rain is expected
— in burned areas where the risk of mudslides and debris flows is likely to be the highest,
according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.In the #Pacific #Palisades, this includes the Getty Villa area,
the Highlands neighborhood, the Bienveneda area near Temescal Canyon Park, the Reseda Boulevard and Marinette Road area near Will Rogers State Park, and in Mandeville Canyon above Tanners Road.Warnings are also in effect around the #Sunset fire burn zone in Runyon Canyon and by the Oakridge Mobile Home Park, which is near the #Hurst fire burn zone in Sylmar.
The Los Angeles Police Department will visit households in the highest-risk areas to issue specific evacuation orders.
Evacuation warnings have yet to be issued for areas in the #Eaton fire burn zone.
