At passivhaus standard the battery would be unnecessary.
We have one 1921 house, retrofitted to top of EPC 'C') and at the moment we are hardly using the grid, but I'm very mindful of the enormous problems of battery tech: the long supply chains and the devastation to lives and ecosystems at the mining end.

It’s great to see a traditional #architecture school is opening up in Europe.
Currently, new developments are filled with boring, soul-destroying concrete and glass boxes that are universally hated by the public.
This school will create a new generation of architects who know how to create liveable and aesthetically pleasing places for people. If you have the means, please help them fulfil their mission.
