OMG, THANK YOU! It's like nails on a chalkboard, especially when you work for a company that is cloud-based.

I've corrected so many people's PowerPoint presentations over the years, only to have them change it back.

And it isn't just IT, a friend works for Dr Pepper and he swears that when talking about putting a dispenser 'on-site' it's correct to say that it's 'on-premise'. I asked him to show me the dictionary entry for it, but he never follows through.

Maybe I'm in denial but yesterday I broke and bought #BaldursGate3.

Now hear me out, I like #PatientGaming because I don't want to encourage game studios who put out broken games and hide functionality behind DLC. #BG3 doesn't do this, if I want other #gaming studios to follow suit, then I should reward the ones that put the customer first.

It's good to have #principles, and better to stick with them, but you need to know why you have them, and be willing to bend when the necessary.

  8. @vsp I am a follower in the way of #patientgaming... and things I'm hearing from friends about #BaldursGate3 are testing my resolve. Usually I wait until several updates have been released and the game is on sale, I'm hoping I can hold out on this one. My large #gaming backlog should help.

I've had #Pixel phones since the OG Pixel, & Nexus before that. I currently have a Pixel 6 Pro... and it may be my last Pixel.

It's a great camera, but as a computer device I find it very frustrating. The processor runs way too hot, the curved screen is highly annoying when you need to drag something from the side, and it was very expensive.

My daughter had been using my Pixel 3 until the battery expanded, and I picked up a #MotoG 5G for $50 and it's been a great phone.

  19. @manualcookie I picked up #Sackboy several weeks ago so I had something to play with my 6 year old.

It is a very forgiving #game and if there's a difficult area that she's having a hard time getting through you can literally carry her through a level. It's also very beautiful and has an amazing soundtrack.

  24. I'm very much looking forward to Cory Doctorow's ( @pluralistic) new #book The Internet Con, which promises to provide a solution to our current #enshittification problem.

Speaking of #Doctorow, how rare is it to have an author that can successfully write #fiction & #nonfiction the way he does? I finished Red Team Blues a few weeks ago and I think it is a fantastic setup for a new series, I'm eagerly awaiting the follow-up: The Bezzel. #MartinHench shows that retirement can be the beginning.

#StudentLoanForgiveness is being framed wrong. Instead of saying 'loan forgiveness', it should be 'interest forgiveness'. I have paid back more than the amount I borrowed, and even if I were to get the full $20k, I would still have paid back more than I borrowed. No one should be making money off of loans to students, especially if those loans can't be discharged in bankruptcy. Reframe it as #InterestForgiveness and change future #StudentLoans to be #InterestFree.
