  1. @BasementDweller3000 Not worth it IMO. With #ShortcutsApp on #macOS you can run shell scripts, which gives access to as many programming languages as you want.

Can the #JavaScript version do the same as #AppleScript? Yes in theory, but the lack of documentation makes it impractical. And there are less and less AppleScript-supporting apps.

Nowadays if I need AppleScript is for some tiny detail and I just ask an LLM for it.

I don't know why we need all these different months. October is nice month. It's got Halloween. It's got my birthday. The weather is nice.

  11. Working at a new building. All the building doors (even the restroom doors) can be unlocked with my Apple Watch. Feeling like a proper "future boy". 😎

I'm watching the mini series 'Apple Cider Vinegar'. It centers around two phony wellness influencers, one who faked having cancer for attention, and the other who claims to cure cancer with fruit and coffee enemas and other junk quackery.

This character is hardest skeptic of these con-artists. He keeps wearing this shirt with 'JTB', some company he works for.

It just hit me that this has to be a hidden reference to 'Justified True Belief' from the field of epistemology.

  19. I was inspired to do this by the work "A German Word Family Dictionary" by Howard H. Keller (1978). The words (3000 I believe) are ordered alphabetically by root in that work.

Btw, if you want to get this book, get the print version. The ebook edition’s formatting is horribly fucked up to the point that it's useless. It's mangled OCR slop that was never reviewed by a human.
