Yesterday, I listened to a bunch of music I used to listen to 10-20 years ago. Made me wanna listen to some of it more again and also lean more into looking like a metalhead again. I definitely never stopped dressing differently but maybe I've toned it down a bit too much at times.

Small steps! But steps nonetheless. I recognised that people were not for me today & was able to communicate clearly with SO. I was able to convey that I wanted to do the cooking by myself (wanted SO out of the way) & needed some peace & quiet tonight. In turn SO appreciated the good communication & was happy as he wanted to do things without me tonight, too. A few years ago we probably both would have had a hard time to voice how we really felt and what we wanted. #Unmasking #ActuallyAutistic

I'm doing a test run of a cable knit project with some leftover yarn, so I can get a feel for it before I knit it in the proper yarn. I found the free pattern on Ravelry called "Bolivian Bulky Celtic Cable Vest" by Shannon Dunbabin. Due to lack of a printer I copied it down by hand and color coded it so I hopefully don't get lost!! #knitting #cableknitting

Since "Fuck." Was done, I was feeling the post-project emptiness. I used the momentum to make a thin fleece lining for the mittens I've knitted a few years back & that were not great in our windy weather. I had no idea how this is typically done, I just went on vibes. Cut out the main pieces by tracing the mitten, sew around the edges, same for the thumbs, then cutting a slit and whip-stitching the thumbs on. Then I whip-stitched the lining into the mitten et voila!

Yesterday I replaced a zipper in my SO's backpack. I salvaged the zipper from an old footrest thingy that has given up. I could sew most of it with the machine but had to handsewn towards the ends. It's not pretty on the inside but it's looking almost normal on the outside and is fully functional. Much better than having to buy an entirely new backpack!

So, I don't know where I found the energy (cos a couple of hours ago I almost fell asleep) but I managed to spend a few minutes on the sewing machine altering some socks. I had bought them because they were one of the few with higher cotton content. Unfortunately the band was cutting into my legs so I didn't wear them for months. Now I cut off the band and zigzagged over the edge adding a splash of colour too. Much much better! #alterations #clothing

The poncho made from a blanket is done!! I am super pleased with how it turned out! I paid special attention to comfort, so there are no pokey overlocked edges on the inside aside from a small center seam in the hood. Center front & back are french seams & I hand stitched a band over the neck seam! Just a few small pieces of fabric are left over, so it's almost a no waste pattern!
