This last morning in Long Beach I tried to slow things down a little and take the day more calmly ☕🙂
I had a good coffee with @wsvincent , then stopped by the sprint area where many people were working on Python and Django together.

This morning I joined an interview at the @jetbrains booth during PyCon US 2026 🎤
It was a really interesting experience being interviewed by @wsvincent
Thanks also to Alex for the audio/video support, @pauleveritt for the “security service” during the interview 😄, and Kristel for the assistance around the booth ✨

I'm at Girona airport waiting for my flight back to Pescara 🐬
Thanks to all the members of the @django community who trusted us and joined us in Palafrugell 🏖️
I still remember talking about the Django Sprints first with @felixxm , Simon Charette, @carlton and @wsvincent at @djangocon 2022 in San Diego 🌴
Special thanks to Carlton for believing in this idea and for carrying the weight of organizing the first edition. 🤗
Carlton, we did it! 🙌

🏆 and the award for the smallest Venn Diagram Intersection of 2024 goes to...
...people in the Python/Django Community that play golf! ⛳
One of my absolute highlights from #DjangoConUS this year was playing golf with @wsvincent
Let me know if you play regularly and I'll create a group-chat somewhere for all of us to chat golf and Python/Django...
We might even have enough people to make up a fourball for a round at both DjangoCons next year!

Woohoo, a bit bittersweet, but I was clued into the @djangochat #podcast at the last @djangocon and I finally worked my way through the backlog! 🎙️ Thank you @carlton, @wsvincent, and all the guests for all the great chats, and validating that…”it depends!” 😌

It was really nice to see so many new contributors approaching @django with the guidance of Django Fellows Natalia and Jacob, together with @CodenameTim , @Rachell from @djangonaut , and many other experienced community members ✨
I only had a short time before leaving, but I was happy to say hello, thank everyone working on the Django sprint, and greet a few more friends from the Python community 📸

My last evening in Long Beach ended surrounded by many people from the community ✨
A final moment to relax after the conference, but also another chance to keep chatting, exchange thoughts, and spend a little more time together with many of the people I met here during PyCon US 2026 🙂

This evening REVSYS hosted the PyCon US after party here in Long Beach 🎉
Thanks to @frank and @webology for creating another opportunity to meet people, continue conversations after the conference closing, exchange ideas, and simply spend time together with the community ✨

Today on my walk, I was listening to the DjangoChat episode on Django 6.0 with Natalia Bidart, hosted by Carlton Gibson and Will Vincent, and in just the first 15 minutes I got so many cool ideas to share!
For example, how we might help the community test new Django versions more easily or align releases more smoothly.
Just a little daily inspiration from a nice stroll! 🌿
Give it a listen and get inspired! 🎧

Two weeks ago, I joined Will Vincent and Carlton Gibson on the DjangoChat podcast to talk about Django On The Med 🏖️
We had just returned from Palafrugell after three amazing sprint days, and it was the perfect moment to share how it all came together, what we built, and what’s next. 🎙️
You can listen or watch the full episode 👇

In the latest DjangoChat episode, Will and Carlton talked about DjangoCon US 2025, the upcoming Django 6.0 (now in feature freeze), and most excitingly, Django on the Med 🏖️
This will be the very first Django sprint event, happening this October in Palafrugell, Spain — organized by me and Carlton 👩💻

We had a great time together tonight after the closing of DjangoCon Europe 2025 in Dublin. 🇮🇪
It's always nice to have the opportunity to spend time together with old and new friends. 🤗
We had a great dinner and a fantastic party. 🍻
In the photos, among others, @carlton, @felixxm, @adamchainz, @wsvincent, @sarahboyce, @EvilDMP and @chris.
