The instance layer8.space is will go into maintenance for ~30min at around 22.30 CEST to sort out some problems with the v3.5 upgrade. Nothing major, but needs to be offline for that.

If you need a break from the computer, why don’t you do like I did and test old mobile devices with outdated TLS implementations without ALPN to access your server repeatedly to trigger your bot protection, which then blocks your home IP for an hour.
Of course, I could cheat and get a new IP by dis- and reconnecting to my DSL provider. Or go shopping for groceries while enjoying the sun.

heh, I got reminded today thanks to some student VMs how a network behaves when multiple systems share the same IP: assuming they don't go into some kind of error state (which they REALLY should!!) whichever one responds to your arp first wins. And then after a surprisingly short period of time the other one responds and your client goes totally gaslit and decides to change MACs so your connections go all kinds of wonky. That was fun.
