    At the time of the Iran Hostage Crisis I worked at the Federal Reserve Board. Since the US froze Iran’s US bank accounts, the Fed was in on the release negotiations, including a few of my colleagues. I remember in Fall 1980, one came back from an overseas negotiation & told me that the hostages wouldn’t be released until Inauguration day. I wondered if there was an agreement why wait the extra months?
