But then again, we can easily live without our peer group, we can live together with others, even from other cults: #Birdy, @kwigglebike, recumbents, velomobiles, … Hell, we can be even part of more than one of these cults.
And we contribute to the turnaround in transport policy, reducing car usage, get healthier, …

@xtaran There are three bag options for the #BromptonElectric now! Not as many as for the regular #Brompton, of course, but I recently got one of the bigger ones for my Electric (check the linked thread) and I LOVE it. (Mine is the Basket Bag; there's also an option that's more like your C-Bag.)

@IPEdmonton: Actually, one of the reasons I'm reluctant to decide on a #BromptonElectric is that I likely won't have such a big front bag anymore then. https://ch.brompton.com/shop/bags?category=electric&size=l-20+l&stock=0 actually only shows a single option I choose. (It shows a second, seemingly larger bag, but it's neither selectable nor clickable.)

@IPEdmonton The question is what makes something a part of the #fediverse ? The answer is.... Anything that leverages #activitypub. I run an instance of #friendica even though it has about 80% feature match with #Mastodon for two reasons.
1) It was easier to configure and get running on my #SelfHosting setup
2) It has features mastodon doesn't including a community event calendar and #quotesharing (which is a topic of great debate amongst mastodon users)
#fediverse means that you can interact with the streams exactly the way you want. It's not competition, it is a rising tide lifting all boats circumstance. I hope there are 100 microblogging tools out there soon. -

I really hope so because I'm not an introvert and I'd really prefer to be out and about, doing more things. As long as all levels of government are happy to pretend that COVID is over, there's plenty of opportunity for the virus to mutate, potentially becoming more infectious/lethal. I've heard good things about the effectiveness of the #BivalentBooster and I hope to get my 6th injection in a month or 2. -

@IPEdmonton I never really understood “broadcast only” accounts. To me, the joy of the Other Place was interacting with people, was being in conversation with #Edmontonians and #Albertans about our community. And I never wanted to speak just to other journalists. I wanted to engage with all kinds of people. That’s what I will miss most - that network of relationships, built and nurtured since 2009.

What’s remarkable to me is how the CBC is supposedly so vulnerable to direction and influence by the government and yet still managed to remain the ‘lefty mouthpiece of the Liberals’ through nearly a decade under Harper, who led the most controlling PMO in Canadian history.
We should see this for what it is: nothing less than an attack on the very idea of independent, impartial, publicly-supported institutions bc the conservatives prefer the alternative.
