#HTMX is growing on me.
It felt weird at first to generate frontend from the backend. But I gave in because writing more code at the backend was way too tempting. I just can't hold #javascript right.
Using templates and SQL, creating frontend using #php and htmx is pretty nice. Kind of feel like doing #graphql and #Rest together.
But at the end of the day, I am writing less javascript and it is great.

#OpenSUSE in AWS still has python3.6 as system python. Every time I use a python tool and ran into python3.6 and python3.9+ compatibility issues, my heart sinks a little. I know, there are solutions like #uv, #venv, #pipx, #docker, #nix etc!
With #rust you sweat (and cry) during development but with #python (and #js), you sweat (and cry) after deployment!
I'll die on the former hill rather than the later. Thank you!

I've done a couple of app in #framework7 (vue). It is good. But #quasar looks better.
Quasar has very good support for #capacitorjs which I use to create android app.
Finally learnt how to write native android plugins in JS thanks to #capacitorjs docs!
Fun part -- had to download roughtly 100GB of stuff to build 5MB of app!!!

I am probably holding them wrong!
This time I tried writing a web app not in #php but #fastapi + #sqlmodel (python) and #vue3 ( javascript). It kind of works well but refactoring is a nightmare.
In the beginning, it felt like I was having the best of both worlds -- Python and Vue3. Dev speed was good. Now maintaining and refactoring make me feel like I am having the worst of both worlds.
As a single dev, I should have stayed with #php!

Its been 10y using #Python but I still can't setup logging properly without reading logging wiki!!
Now, thanks to #loguru library, logging doesn't require bookmarking a whole wiki. Also, #sentry supports #loguru out of the box.
Most of the time, a single line at top of your module `from loguru import logger` does the job.
And you can change logging behavious by setting an environment variable rather than.. you know what!

I tried #dbeaver community to clone a database into a local postgres. While it works great on the text only table, I had a terrible time with a table with a large blob.
#pgloader worked great for databases that don't use SSL and encryption (perhaps I am holding it wrong).
What is your favourite tool that can replicate a postgres db (AWS RDS)?

@cdavies I really really want to hate #python sometimes but can't. The darn thing is so useful. Nothing beats it for anything <1k loc! And no matter what you want to do, it is second or third best choice available.
But as a language for developing systems, it sucks! C-API is terrible (shoutout to #pybind11 and #maturin). Dynamic typing becomes a bane (#mypy helps). For last two days, I am tweaking a #fastapi, I miss rust type safety when refactoring.
