Decided today to try something I’ve thought about since the #BlueSCSI came out: turn the BlueSCSI into a backpack card for the #Amiga CDTV SCSI card. After trying some test fits for clearance, I moved most components to the opposite side of the board. I used a female header for SCSI on the back of the card.

SCSI-Emulation: BlueSCSI V2026.03.01
BlueSCSI is a SCSI hardware replacement for the Amiga and other retro systems. It emulates SCSI drives such as hard disks or optical drives using the Pi Pico PR2040 and Pico 2 RP2350. The recently released firmware version 2026.03.01-RC2 for BlueSCSI v2 and Ultra/Ultra Wide includes bug fixes and enhancements, and in particular significant optimizations for WLAN speed and AmigaNET support.

User came on Discord today complaining how hard it was to configure RAW mode on BlueSCSI - they were right! So I automated it all.
Seems samplers users like the RAW partitioned SD workflow instead of images.
This also allows you to pop in a SCSI2SD card into your BlueSCSI for a easy upgrade.

I just got BlueSCSI Toolbox NeXT Edition working!!! (at least the hard parts)
Follow along here if you want to try the alpha/beta in a week or two:

Great work by @jcs.org for a HUGE improvement to #BlueSCSI Wi-Fi Speed- will be in the next release but did a quick pre-release build with his branch if you want to try it out today!
> The result of all that debugging is a 691% speed-up in #EtherTalk speed when going over BlueSCSI Wi-Fi - via jcs
Oh and @twvd already merged these fixes into SnowEmu for a much faster experience there as well!

I receive this converter today theoretically, I hope it will work while waiting for a confirmation of compatibility of the #BlueSCSI with the AKAI DPS 16.
The only thing missing is the cable from the AKAI to this converter, which I haven't found yet. :0)

This is what this #BlueSCSI does
edit: counting on an ASCII/Binary table looks like the 5th bit is dropped out

On my classic Macs with DB25 SCSI ports, is there any reason why I'd NOT settle on just using the DB25 #BlueSCSI over the internal versions? With easy access to the SD, the Pico WiFi being outside and no I/O performance hit... it just seems advantageous, no?
I added a right angle DB25 adapter so the BlueSCSI is upright and parallel to the back of the case to reduce rear clearance, too (helpful on my display shelves).
Curious for opinions! #vintagemac #retrocomputing

Is there a clever way to update a #BlueSCSI V2 that's tucked away inside a PowerBook without opening it first?
